I have always managed to fix Bios freezes on my board by increasing vcore. If voltage is low enough to freeze up in bios then its also low enough to get a crash in Windows while priming small FFTs, this behavior has been consistent on my board.

Cool..... I really like this board, but I got stuck with a IDT chip. 30% max OC really sucks when I consider the fact that I paid the same as someone with an ICS chip :slap: .Quote:

i might return this IDT chip board n wait for Abit
also some OCing tips questions:
1. does this board like 4:5 better than 1:1 ??
2. should i increase PCI clock to 40 and PCI-E clock to 109.5???
I have a set of DDR800 RAM and an E6600. Most of the posts I have read have told me to set the strap at 1066 and run 1:1 with the memory at 533. This is how I have it currently set and I'm running a modest 25% overclock (3.0ghz) on the stock cooler. I feel like I'm selling my RAM short though - would I see a performance hit if I stepped up to 1333:667 1:1, I guess with 2T internal lat?
Or, would I be better just to stick with 1066:533?
depending on the memory, i'd try just switching to the 667MHz memory setting (leave the FSB strap at 1067) this should make your memory run at around ddr2-830 or 415MHz
i dunno i set to DDR2 667, so it gives me 4:5 ratio
and I OC it to 426fsb (my CPU's fsb wall) so RAM is 533MHz or 1066MHz DDR2
oh and i have 1333fsb strap, cuz that way when i OC with setfsb it sticks
Does, BadAxe support Kentsfield or NOT??
I saw pictures w/Kentsfield on BadAxe, but I;m not shore who to trust?
1 yes, and 2:3 too (all div works fine)Quote:

i'd have one request for bad axe owners.
download RW everything from here: http://home.kimo.com.tw/ckimchan.tw/bin/RwV018.rar
boot up with 1333 strap and 1:1 mem
in that program, Access-Command
type "r32 fed14e08h", excl " marks of course, and tell me the result.
also repeat the procedure with 1066 start 1:1 if possible.
also, if you can, do this.
in rwe, access-memory.
in memory window, click "bin" icon.
set FED14000 as start address and length to 1000. then save .bin file, should be 4kB in size.. would be nice if with both 1333 and 1066 straps..
need that information because i'm investigating the possibility of forcing 1333 strap on other 975x boards..
thanks
with my e6600 im hitting a wall around 370 fsb. Would it be safe to say the board is more than capable and that its just my processor that wont go any higher?
.com.tw ?? thailand? taiwan??
@specv
i think u can go higher with close to 1.5v vcore real, so about 1.54v vcore in BIOS = 1.5v vcore real
u should be able to reach 3.6GHz with no problem.
also, what clock gneerator u got? IDT or ICS?? mine is IDT and BIOS bootable is 400fsb, however once get into windows i can use setfsb set it to 426fsb (max for the chip i think)
@ all the bad axe owner with ICS chip
now can u guys with the ICS clock generrator boot at 50%?? also can u use setfsb or some program to overclock it and reboot, and it sticks. By sticks i mean what ever clock speed u set in setfsb it just stays there even after reboot. so normally u can only boot at 50% overclock 400fsb, but using setfsb to 450fsb and boot at 450fsb???
CPU@Limit & BIOS@Limit (but the mother board can give me more mhz on FSB:D)
http://img226.imageshack.us/img226/918/45ghzgf8.jpg
And this is the Maximal boot (cpu it's very hot for boot at 4,5ghz)
http://img218.imageshack.us/img218/8...hz490x9ob3.jpg
Sorry for size of screen, but i love this motherboard:D
vFSB 1,39v
vMCH 2,00v
vDIMM 2,3v
vCORE 1,75v
my goal was 3.6, i set to the max voltage to evertyhing and couldnt do better than 380. i have my memory is 800mhz running at 533. So at 400fsb it will only be running at 800 so i know that isnt the issue. Any other pointers?Quote:

hey for IDCC can u boot with the clock u set in IDCC?? or is it gone after u reboot?
Yes....anytime you up the FSB higher than the 30% max the IDT is capable of from bios (using setfsb or systool), IDCC will not start.Quote:

EDIT: yes IDCC changes are saved as long as you hit the "save and reboot" buttonQuote:

hmm i was able to boot at 400fsb which is 50% OC with my E6400 + badaxe 305 IDT ... when i choose 1333fsb strap and 30% burn in ....
this is weird is it?
When I choose 1333 strap, nothing changes. In bios the "system bus override" says 1333, but everything else is still at 1066.....same in windows.
what do u mean same in windows?? when u change fsb strap to 1333 does it mean that ur fsb is changed to 333?? i dont know, cuz if thats true, then 333 x 1.3 = 432fsb which is what i have in BIOS, 1333fsb strap and 30% burn in
That's the way it's supposed to work, just not for me... at 1333 strap, fsb should be 333...and mem at 667 for 1:1 ratio. 533 on mem would become a 5:4 ratio on this strap.
Everything at 1333strap +30% is the same as 1067 + 30%
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...sonal/1333.jpg
yeah but when i set 1333 fsb strap and 30% burn in, i get 400fsb when boot ....
i thought fsb strap is like the lower level setting for fsb, so it has nothing to do with fsb?!?! not sure, but i do know that setting it to 133fsb strap the board lets u go higher fsb but lower clock for clock performance.. can anyone confirm that?? whether fsb strap changes the fsb??
1333 strap doesn't work on IDT chips. You can set it, but it functions as 1066.
