I have s small problem. Whaen I try to pump more than 1,61 volts to my 920 the system resets, so I think that this is some kind of protention of the mobo. Can someone help me to remove this protection. I have made the vdroop mod. My mobo is ASUS P5WD2 Premium.
What BIOS? I have no such issue on mine with 519 or 606. It will complain on POST if the *actual* Vc reading is >1.60V, but just press F1 to continue. You might try going into BIOS->H/W monitor and set Vc reading to "Ignore" and see if that does anything. I can't imagine it will, but won't hurt to try :)
Short of that, maybe the issue lies elsewhere (heat, PSU, etc.)?
What's the max safe vcore using WC on a 920D ?
And the 0704 bios is ok for > 300fsb ? or 0606 is better ?
Most people I see will try to keep it 1.55Vc or less for daily. AFAIK, 606 and 704 are identical (never seen a change log for it). The only thing different as far as I can tell is the updated Intel logo in 704. Regardless, either one should do >300FSB no problem if you proc/cooling allows it.
0606 is the BIOS. I have disabled the the H/W monitor and I didn't see that crap message during post. I'll do the vddr and vcore mods today and will se if that helps.Quote:

About a CPU temp...
@4.2Ghz the max is 46°C during dual SPI32MB or video encoding
@4.4-4.5GHz and higher voltage (1.50-1.55) go up to ~53-55°C
they are not too high but I can't go over 4.5Ghz...any tip or trick for BIOS settings? :D

My chip is a P4 641 and it runs at 292 FSB (= 4679 Mhz). Memory is 2 x 1 GB Ballistix running at 2:3 438 Mhz 4-3-3-10.
ATM I'm testing with Prime95, but it runs quite hot. Temperatures are above 50 degrees celsius with two instances of Prime95. Is that normal for an effective watercooling setup ?

P4 641 @ 5 Ghz is a fact :fact: & still looking for the max... :)
And yes, it runs hot (65 degrees celsius), even with watercooling !
/edit : WAS a fact. I found out my CPU is throttling at this speed !
