Same here with 2 gb kit Ballistix and old 256mb stick tcb3, but didn`t tried to figure where the problem is. Board Version r.02 with default bios.
Edit: Dual channel works with Ballistix it`s just the first slots using 1 stick only.
I had a problem with my OCZ 2GB DDR400 DC EL Plat. Kit, im pretty sure it's Infineon BE-5, one stick worked flawlessly in single channel, both together would run in dual-channel, but would come up with thousands of errors even at stock settings, I tried every combination, I found one stick to be the cause of the trouble, in Dimm1, it error'ed in memtest very bad, in Dimm2, only a few errors, I tryed less and more voltage, no difference, I figured if one worked perfect in any slot, the other most be faulty so I returned the kit to my supplier from my work, hoping I will get another kit with no problems, but after reading this im not soo sure, still doesn't explain why one worked perfectly and the other didn't though.
- Running 02/11 BIOS.
OPB, I was taking a closer look at the second screenshot in your first post. If I am reading that A64 screen right, that computer is running 4x512 DDR610 at 1T!?!? I am having trouble getting DDR550 stable at 2T, let alone 1T!
Is that really true?
4x512 DDR610 1t is impossible ;)Quote:

I just found out that INF ic problem:
that problem currently occured when you have apply DDR500 2.5-3-2-5 under windows by using clock gen on the fly oc your ram frequency; system got BSOD (PFN list corrupted showing) then reboot, debug 80 card stop@ C1.!!
Solution is you need to change different type of cpu you are using.
because I have fx57 got this problem for 10 sets of INF ram and I have no way to get it boot as dual channel no matter clear CMOS and change to another fx57. However, when I plug in 3500+ E6, it just boot perfectly.
sounds like DFI has some tweaking to do with the less common ram typesQuote:

The point is it shouldn't be that weird ram might be not capable of doing that high frequency or tight timings then cause dual channel was not functioned.
yes, I mean change the ram timings.Quote:

weird sound like high frequency air blow....
my psu seem got this sound.... but nothing with that... actually what's the problem?
My psu is doing the same thing. It sounds like feedback or something...Quote:

Hope you don't mind OPB, I'm not trying to hijack your thread or anything I just didn't want to start ANOTHER eXpert thread. :D Just wanted to share my first day with the eXpert and a few results. Thanks again for the pointers they really helped get me going.
Let's start with some pics...
Out with the old, in with the new!

Temp Outside :p:

Room temp, should have been cooler :slap: Maybe open window up more next time :)

Time for some benchmarks :fact:
CPU: Opteron 146 0530APMW
Mem: 2x512MB Cosair PC3500c2 (old BH-5)
Bios: E704-2BT
Cooling: Air Cooled by XP-90 w/ high speed Panaflo
Initial Test: nothing special to see here just getting a feel for the dividers, drive/data strength ect. One thing to note is the MAL and RP. On my old nF4 board I could run 7/5 no problem 1:1 but if I even wanted to think about running a divider I had to raise the MAL to atleast 8ns.

Now the results start to get interesting. Anyone up for higher speeds with tighter timings? Also notice no change in MAL or RP is needed. :slobber:

Where I'm right now, still no need to raise MAL and RP. Still seem to have more head room with added voltage. :toast:

Really hope the MAL and RP can carry over to the 166 divider cause I know know the CPU has a good 3GHz+ in it. So far board seems very solid.
meatfrog, you're surely very welcome to share what you have.;)
That's a hell nice work!!:)you try any 2gb set yet?
Any tricks on 2 GB might help others to, no stablew windows with 0530 cabne since dfi expert for me :(
OK, I thought running high Vdimm with low (Stock) core volt on CPU was dangerous. Is that still accurate?
Interesting stuff MeatFrog :)
But OPB was talking about Chipset Area! Not about PSU...Quote:

A little bad news for this next set of results. When running the 166 divider any mem frequency over 250MHz required MAL of 8ns :slap: Oh well not really that big of a deal. :D

@ even 270mhz , expert can still handle MAL/RP--->6/4;)
and you always give too much vdimm..
how could you make mbm5 work under expert?
This I want to know aswell! :confused:Quote:
