i hope this makes sense. i don't know how big this store is or any of the other stores i found online. ok, i'm sure these stores don't stock alot of cpus. they only carry enough to sell and re-order. they're there for our business and they cater to what we're looking for whether it's winnie or venice. hence, the upon request for stock availibility. so basically, even if they have winnie, they won't mind selling venice if you so chose. make sense? i hope so :http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...te=1&p=807028#

NeedThese.com must be a brand new operation, they don't have any ResellerRatings going back further than March of this year. I'd be cautious...
What the hell is this? ADA3500BNBOX

I dunno, I'd be a little wary. Anyone willing to be the sacraficial lamb? :)
And google brings up exactly one search...the website itself. Hmm.Quote:

Does this mean there will be a 3500+ san diego and venice?
AMD will not release a 3500+ San Diego with 1mb L2 cache...not a chance...it's *possible* but highly unlikely at this stage that they multi-locked and disabled 512k L2 cache some San Diego chips and are going to sell them as 3500+ chips much like they did with the "Clawhammer" 3500+ chips that you can buy today...however the reason those Clawhammer 3500+ chips exist is because 130nm process chips are being phased out, AMD had alot of extra, older FX chips, or FX chips that failed the speed-bin that they needed to sell off, so they disabled 512k L2 cache, leaving the standard 512k L2 Cache available, and locked the multiplier on the chip at x11...I doubt they would make a move like this in the beginning of the new chips life-cycle...the yield on their premium FX chips is low enough without arbitrarily turning them into chips that sell for 1/4 the price...would make no senseQuote:

I contacted their sales team, and technically no, the pre-order is for Newcastle 3800+ chipsQuote:

very generalized reply by email, and they never answered any of the questions that I asked them...so it's really anyone's guess...if they're having trouble getting 3800+ CPUs however I would tend to suspect their shipment on 4/15 would more likely be Venice if their Distributor is out of Newcastles, getting Venice CPUs at this time will probably be easier
Are you referring to this?
http://www.monarchcomputer.com/Merch...ory_Code=AMD64
Because if you are, that's a Newcastle. Not a Venice.
However, while I was browsing Monarch just now, I noticed this:

I hope this means in about 10 hours, we'll be able to preorder Venice...
Buy.com now has them for pre-order.
Buy.com is definitely not the place for any order like this. First they don't have it, second when something goes wrong their customer support is horrendeous, and third it is quite a good chance that something would go wrong.
By the way,

looks like Venice 3200 will go 2.8 GHz on low voltage and on air. Probably better. Do not waste money on 3800.
What they're saying is that when they get the venice being that it is a different CPU(SSE3) it will require a new part number. This will also afford them the opertunity to adjust the price according to demand :(Quote:

anyway I can see alot of you already giving in and buying winnies cause Venice wont be sold till all the extra winnies are cleared so you got no choice. I would buy a winny if I didnt already have a good one
Yea don't waste money on a 3800, b/c it will only do 3.8ghz under extreme cooling.. bench at 3.6. So figure probably good at around 3.2-3.4 for single phase.Quote:

Well I've got a 3000+ on order right now, gonna cancel that and go with a 3200 I think. But 3800+ have hit close to 3ghz on air I believe. And if you will read the linked thread, that one went to 3.8ghz.
Are you goin with the 3200+ for the 10x multiplier?
