especialy with the presshott the extra heat the D5 puts in will not be noticed. if you were running on a winnie it might be a different story but your not.

What do you guys think about the new Asetek pump? Some says it's just a revamped L30, some say it's too weak and critizise the nipples. But you can't help but enjoy the custom colors and software controlled speed regulation :D
Well, as you said it very much looks like a hydor, and performance aside, these are not the most reliable pumps out there.
The different colours are a nice touch for some I guess, personally I don't really care about looks too much. Although I can imagine some of the "pimp my rig" guys will love it.
I am having a hard time finding a scenario that profits from a software controlled speed regulation. I've played with the selector of my D5s, but other than satisfying my inner child, I would only need it for testing components at different flow rates and for this I don't need software control.
The only thing I really like about it is the "surveillance" aspect, but then again a laing ddc has a tacho sensor and can warn me/shut down the system in case of a malfunction (connected to CPU Fan connector).
For me this makes it "just another pump".
just as good as IWAKI. I have had one on my reef tank for 2 years and well nothing is harsher than saltwater.Quote:

Just as good as IWAKI Used one for 2 years and then some on my reef tank. Saltwater is probably the harshest thing you can put through a pump. the smallest model will pump roughly 4 gallons per minute at max rated head pressure of 12ft drop a waterblock with high restriction in the loop and your looking at roughly 2 gal per minute at 12ft headpressure .
chew, nothing compares to iwaki when it comes to relaibility... absolutley nothing..
Marlowe: whats the use of a speed control when its set to full speed all the time anyway?? kinda redundant at that point.
It's set to full speed all the time? I didn't get that.. but I got this: "Pump speed regulation for most advantageous performance and balanced output." So it can be controlled from windows right. Even tho I think it will be pretty quiet anyways.. And look: You don't get Iwaki with these colors :DQuote:

thank god!
those are damn ugly
not to mention they look cheap as hell, sorry, they do.
they do look pretty cheap.
iwaki is ugly, but memorable. its the ugly duckling that kicked everyones arse.
compare tat iwaki 20 series and eheim 1260...which 1 more heat, more noise and even more problem ?? im planning to get watercooling ....juz dilemma which 1 shud i go ...
my place (malaysia) only hv a few brand of water pump avai....
swiftech mcp series
eheim series
hydor
iwaki..
iwaki 20 series puts less heat into the water and performs WAY WAY better.
The Iwaki performs much better but has a louder humming sound than the Eheim 1260. And personaly I wouldn't put an Iwaki in my case because 1) it's so big and 2) the motor part of the pump gets very hot and will really heat up the inside of the case. My Iwaki is remotely set up away from my system.
all very true maxwedge... but when used properly the iwaki is unbeatable.
I can't hear my iwaki over the rest of my case fans I have a psu fan and 2 denki's running at about 5 volts atm.
i just ordered MCP655. Is this a good pump? I have heard that it is pretty good
its good.

now this is one hell of a pump !!!!
Only if you have a radiator the size of your wall to cool it :(
hey Maxxx, do you think a BIX3 with 6 80cfm fans will do ?????
i am thinking of wc'ing my little farm of 6 XP's and 2 P$'s. do you think this can handel 8 waterblocks?
8 waterblocks... no way. even the monstercore would have trouble cooling that.
What I suggest you do is get two monstercores from vouyermods (if you dont want to wait for weapon as he takes a while) and run them in parallel to cool the system.
Anyone know what's the improvement over the MCP650 with the MCP655?
Dba, flow, and coolness.
damn, and for just another 20 bucks......
PS. remember to ask before i buy.... remeber to ask before i buy....
Maxxxx
do you think that iwaki could handel the 8 waterblocks with 15' of tubing and the quad heatercore?
