but the frequencies do not switch all the time in 2d with this bios .
I'm able to get 1.4v with GPU tweak when running crossfire, but only 1.3v with a single card.

Are the cards responding to 1.4v and clocks increasing proportionately?

This special MSI bios allows my trifire 7970 to bench 3DM11 @ 1300 @ 1.29v, altho artifacts. Gaming is stable at 1.3v.Quote:

My 7970 BE's just got delivered today. I dont normally OC cards but I may give these a try for some benching. I might give that MSI bios a try even though these run 1000MHz stock, I cant seem to clock them well even at 1.3v. Could be a driver issue, 3dm11 crashes my system when clocked to 1250 on the core.

should b fine as i've flashed this bios onto my 3 cards. Just make sure that u rename it to something simple like msi.rom then force flash using atiflash -f -p 0 msi.romQuote:

All "original" BIOS'es which are 128kB have code only in first 64kB. Checked 'em all myself, cause I was intrigued by same question.

my card can only hit 1200mhz and doesnt have a cutout on the backplate over the vrm like some of the newer ones not that it seems to make a difference
Ill have to double check but, the bios I was using that was posted at Kingpin cooling that allows 1.4v did not force the card to stay in 3d mode all the time, the card seemed to operate as normal. It just gave the option to set higher vgu.Quote:

I'm pretty happy with this cards abilities, I can run BF3 at 1.037v at 1000/1425 and gpuz says its .980v lol and I can run 1150/1600 on stock volts, 1.112 in AB and 1.05 or so in gpuz.
