Yeah I meant that 1600 and I tried 2T on it too and still fails. I will try those timings (24-33) just in case.

Should have checked around, these probally would have been a better choice and offer great bang for the buck. http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=240873
But I bought mine a LONG time ago (triple channel for $79 after rebate) and I have always been happy with OCZ. I know they will replace it fast if it does not live up to spec but in reality, real life performance is probably not going to show much so maybe later when I am not using my pc so much. lol
Seriously?
Yeah, I know it was for "intel" but at the time was the only low voltage kit available and for the price I was able to cherry pick the best two but wow, really, I am surprised they can say one thing is specd for Intel and not for AMD...it is like marketing Vitamins for Men and others for Women. lol
Really having fun trying to see how far i can get cas 7 on these GTS, i did go to cas 8 but saw no more headroom to clock them higher , ohh well its all fun:D
1m is easy try 32m, thats where it gets tricky.
hey neo mike, great job with 1m! Try 32M like chew says! You are pushing your ram really nice, what is your bios version? I'm thinking about buying msi again, crosshair III is not availble in my country and God knows if it ever will be :(
Is that your bios or windows tuning? Can you push nb freq higher? 2900-3000 with the same memory timings?
Hey Cele, if you desperately want a Crosshair III drop me a PM, maybe i can help you out. I can get 'm here in every pc store.
Thank you very much for your gesture Zeus, it is highly appreciated! I will send you PM soon!
No problem man, you're welcome.
Ok I'm going to apologize for my noobness to OC but I've been reading and learning. Thank you all.
I'm a gamer and just recently built a new gaming rig to replace my tried and true FX53/AsusA8ne/ATI3850 home built rig. This latest build is the fourth computer that I've ever built.
I've got my 965 c3/crossfire III on air and running Prime95 blend for 3+ hours now. Woot. It didn't take much voltage to get this done (1.4). After a lot of trial and error and reading, I think I finally understand this chip (ya right.)
The chip itself is a 0946DPMW
Thanks to great posts by knowledgable members, I've learned alot about OCn this chip in a short amount of time.
Here are some photochops showing all the details and settings.

Oh man I can't wait to add the 2nd 5850!
Very nice job frogeye, looks pretty solid:up:.
Im seeing how far i could take my ram cas 6, and how far i could get everest to go, i got every last drop out of my memory, and everest. Im really hoping i can crack 13k on everest with air. :D
Nice one mike. As you can see read bandwidth barely scales after ~880MHz. Did you corrupt your OS so it went Taiwanese? :D
Great run neo mike.
wow you guys sure do clock up that ram. Is it ddr3 1600? As soon as I start to push the ram by touching the ht multi, my system goes unstable fast.
Now this is weird or maybe not. I was able to run Prime blend for 3 hours with the settings I posted above. Well, I managed to squeze in some gaming and guess what!? BSOD. So, I'm guessing it must either be my NB or my ram. I'm learning more towards my NB. So weird the system will do a 3 hour torture test but as soon as I subject it to CODMW2 and my leet gaming skills it goes unstable.
Suggestions?
Chew, my system also would crash while playing dirt2. total freeze or blue screen.
This morning I upped my NB freq to 2800 from 2600 and the NB voltage to 1.139. I also upped the cpu vcore to 1.4125. I just got finished playing CODMW2 and no freezing or BSODs. Must have been the NB voltage or would the lower 2600 freq also cause this? Anyway, I'm back in business. I'm now going to lower the CPU vcore back to 1.4 just to see if it crashes. My way of trying to figure out what the issue was.
1.139V for 2.8GHz CPU-NB? I can hardly believe you can even boot at such low voltage. Most CPU's need at least 1.2-1.22V for 2.8GHz, maybe even more.
like zeus said, definately sounds like NB volts/clocks need some fine tuning... and also, judging by your aod screenshot when you said you use 1.139v for nb, i think you are talking about real NB volts, not cpu-nb (IMC) volts. bumping that wont help get your IMC stable - you want to bump cpu-nb volts (might be called something different in your bios, have to ask zeus what its called in your bios)
It's just called CPU/NB voltage and it's right under CPU Voltage in the Extreme Tweaker menu. ;)
Just got my C3 and tossed it in for a quick few tests.
My max bootable setting I've reached so far on the cores is 4028MHz @ 1.4V (stock voltage for this chip) and 2968NB w/ +0.275V, and Ram at 1696MHz 7-6-5-15-11-1T. Can most likely push the NB higher. Max tolerable bootable voltage of the chip is 1.45V.
My C2 could only boot at a max of around 3922MHz which required around 1.475V.
First validation done on Corsair H50 (Temps are similar to a TRUE 120), no special cooling here

Don't know why this didn't validate correctly, but the speeds are true.
Will be looking to do a Cold air test later, and 24/7 Stability test later.
