got a 750 from newegg this week
L945B539
seems to be fairly decent so far, 6 hours p95 blend, i did 10 loops linX max mem earlier, gonna do at least a 20 loop later. this is for my gamer so it needs to be stable. cooling is a original TRUE 120 with lapped base and 2 scythe high speeds.
Anyone get these chips stable 4.4ghz to 4.6ghz ?? I'm stable at 4.2 and have low temps want to push higher but am having trouble.
Load bios defaults, from OC TWEAKER section set the multiplier to TURBO.Quote:
Could go higher if I could figure out how to lock the 21 multiplier. I turn on the 21 multiplier in bios and at idle it is 21 but under 100% load it drops to 20.
Than disabled speesteep, C-STATE...and put the voltages you know.
The multiplier will remain to TURBO-21.
If so it won't work( P55 EXTREME has a little different bios than P55 PRO) set the multiplier to 20 in bios and in windows raise the multiplier in Oc tuner to TURBO.
For 200 BCLK i use 1.279v, and for 4ghz i use 1.886 PLL.
For 4.3-4.4ghz i think vcore is esential ...But it may be need 1.4-1.45v
update result
prime/linx not stable (high temp)
room temp 30-31C

4.4 is my highest so far. Gets very voltage hungry after 4.2 and having a P7P55D Deluxe means I have a max PCH of 1.15v which doesn't help.

(I'm johnnyfiive on TPU forums btw)
Has anyone else found 21x to be a complete PITA?
I wish I had a 21x multiplier. The highest multiplier my motherboard reaches is 20x. BTW, wat vtt, pll, and pch voltages are you using batmang?
The highest I got is 4.35ghz (200x217) with 1.36 vtt, 1.80 pll, and 1.05 pch. I need help getting it to 4.4ghz.

Thanks. Is 21x always there for you or do you have to enable turboboost or any other function.
I'm running 21x multiplier, Gigabyte p55a-ud3 f6 bios, they let me key it in.
I do have turbo boost disabled for stress testing.
I'm up to 4.4ghz trying to get that semi stable. As long as I can play all my games and benchmark I'm happy.
:S i got a x24 MP ? ?

Anybody with i5 750 + MSI GD65 + GSKILL PIS 2200 cl 7?
http://img413.imageshack.us/img413/4...inxerror18.jpg
I can't seem tighten the ram....
7-9-8-24 is the best i can do at the moment
7-8-8-24 is not even bootable :(
P/S: Please ignore the Linx result .....was just trying to show a cpu-tweaker tab for reference :p:
Anyways test environment was WIN7 Ultimate 64bit under diagnostic mode for max memory testing
My other screenie will show that cpu was running at 100% & mems at 98%
Please correct me If I'm wrong :)
Thanks!
Got a newish batch L948B659 and a P55A-UD4 with some LV Kingston 1600MHz CL7. Will get results up tonight :)
Ok so I did a little tweaking over the holidays and managed to get 3.8ghz stable at rather surprising voltages. It passes over 6hours of p95 large fft's and over 8hours of p95 blends and I ran 20 runs of Intel BurnTest @maximum stress and it passed with flying colours.
CPU-Z and CoreTemp (it was pretty cold in my room during the stress test, it usually gets around 65c under full load in intel burntest)

Best runs in Intel BurnTest

Oh and my i5-750 is from Batch#L937B557, I picked it up late last year. Also my motherboard is a Gigabyte P55A-UD4.
Haven't saved my stess results till this point, but I will add those tomorrow, after stressing over night. So far this result is stresstested Prime and OCCT stable though.
vcore: 1,20v (bios value)
vtt: 1,25v
vdimm: 1,6v
I'm quite happy with it up till now:

2 questions....
How do I find the stock voltage of my i5 750?
I read somewhere that your Ram voltage has to be within 0.5v of some other voltage otherwise it may cause harm. Does anyone know what this is?
VTT has to be within .5 of DRAM voltage. It doesn't matter as much if you're running stock, but above 1.67V I wouldn't take risks.
To find the stock voltage, leave everything on auto, boot into Windows and run Prime95. Whatever is your voltage reading on CPU-Z during load is your VID.
Aah voltage under load, I see.
But I've read that CPU-Z voltage readings are actually less/more than what the 'physical' voltage is because of vdrop or something?
Sorry for the noob questions, just trying to learn
It's a bit weird about VTT should be within .5 dram voltage. My ram says it's rated at 1.65, and bios says default vtt is 1.1, so just by being at default it's outside the range :(
So CPU-Z is the real voltage (actual reading)?
So if I want 1.3v.... If I set 1.3v in my bios, then run Prime95 and CPU-Z reports 1.2v, than means I have to set my bios to 1.4v for it to actually be 1.3v?
Is this the same for other voltages such as vtt and dram?
Since motherboards usually don't have a built-in multimeter, it's not the actual voltage running through your core. CPU-Z is more accurate than what you set on the BIOS, because it uses some special circuitry to read that voltage. I believe the vDrop is not always the same, but it could be.
As for the different voltages, the vDrop isn't always the same.
