I've determined that the one in LA is somewhat busy.
right now I'm assuming I'm bottlenecked on their end
albiet, I NEVER download that much so i don't care..
also, this was while running folding @ home, so the results might be marginally slower...

sucks pretty hard because I pay for DSL 1000, but only get DSL 768-Speed...

One step below the best package available here, i just would rather pay $25 a month than $45.
my upload sucks but its better than my old dsl.
holy shiz Vapor. how much that run you a month?

That's Comcastic. Probably gonna switch back to dsl once my $19.99 year trial is over tho.... Then, i'll alternate between dsl and comcast depending on which one has better deals.
YAY Update!!!!
We recently got to upgrade!
Apparently our service was 6 Mbit, but our old modem was limiting us to 4. So, comcast guy swaps our modem, and we also upgrade to 8Mbit, with 6xxKbps upload. (as opposed to 384 like it was) Much nicer. DLing from good websites gets me >1 MB per sec. :D
8Mbit/128kbit fastpath DSL :(
only good thing about it is the ping :woot:
Mine on my Laptop laying in bed.
Speed Test Result
11640 / 1248 (Kbps)
(1420.8 / 152.3 KB/sec)
Compared to the average of 1414 tests from verizon.net:
* download is 166% better, upload is 22% better

I have comcast in denver co, not sure why the IP is showing TCI that was the prior cable operator. Never have a problem with it and always fast speeds... Paying for the 8mb/768mb... I have my tcp/ip tweeked
Hrm, probably about $40,000 per year. :p: ;)Quote:

Had i known how far away from the CO i was i would've told my parents to get cable instead of dsl:( Contract is until September otherwise we have to pay $250 cancellation fee. I hope i can have time warner cable by then..

comcast's 8mb package, upload still a little lacking, but download is ok.
im liking this whole powerboost thing, now if i could only find a place where i might be able to sustain a download at that:p:
