Wonder how easy it will be to install with a Prolimatech Super-Mega... definitely gonna have to make sure the alignment is spot on when placing it on top of the CPU, then I'm gonna have to make sure not to bump anything whilst I'm putting the bracket through to bolt down the heatsink... hmm effort much...

just remember - IX can not be used with heat-pipe technology. the gaps between the heat pipes will cause problems with IX performance. not sure if this heat sink uses heat pipe technology or not; i just know a lot of them do.....

sorry - yea, i meant at the contact point with the IX. if the IX *contacts* the heat pipes (or rather - the seams between the heatpipes) then it won't make contact completely and there will be an air-gap. as we all know well: air does not conduct very well at all and would result in higher than expected (much higher) temps.

We were discussing (many many years ago on procooling) the value of indigo (in it's infancy) for use in fabrication of die sims for heatspreader to heatload as it's thermal efficiency back then was astounding, especially when it came to reproducability. Can't believe it got actually into the retail market... I'd dig the old die sim threads out but it appears procooling's servers are now permanently 'too busy'. Shame. Lotta valuable data lost there :(

Anyways, I don't like liquid metal. After a few months it's very hard to remove ... and it's very conductive so a drop in your MB and bye bye.

jogshy: i beleave that to be another plus for IX. While it's thermal performance is a bit less than that of liquid metal like liquid ultra/pro, it's easier to remove without voiding warranty as IIRC it won't diffuse into surfaces of cooler base & IHS that much as to require lapping to remove as it is for liquid metal.
