Don't know about the maximus.
If the vertical mount had been worth it on the P5K deluxe, I would of gone for this instead and cut the heatsink with a dremel. i know warranty on the motherboard is an issue, but I'm guessing cutting the heatsink would be easier than the plate??

It just appears harder these days for WB manufactures to allow for every board/configuration out there. I understand wanting to have one mount to fit all but maybe that just isn't possible anymore.
But that is a very fast response from EK about a possible solution. If the blocks cost less than a FuZion then the extra mounting plate should not be an issue to purchase as an extra. JMO
Alltough it's a fast response/solution, such thing should not have happened in the first place.
Maybe EK was rushing things to get it in stores before the holidays?
I do hope that the extra nozzle plates will be ready by that time, I really don't mind running a restrictive loop.
Also, I would applaud EK for keeping his promise and release something. The last thing we want is someone who talk, talk, talk and don't deliver before several months or years...
Wit such a fast release timeframe, there is bound to be some issues and EK is prompt to promise a fast fix for it, which is great.
Keep in mind that I see the XS crowd as a kind of beta testers willing to get the best of the world.
At least, blocks and pumps doesn't give BIOS issues or BSOD ;)
After getting through 3 DFI P35's recently, I have to say that comment did make me chuckle.Quote:
You could get a job at DFI with that attitude!
Only kidding!

I thought DFI isn't making any boards...
guys tested this block with the asus maximus and i can confirm that it will fit.

Well I tried Eddy's block on my Gigabyte P35 DS3 board, and I can confirm that it will not fit vertically, only horizontally.
The Northbridge sink AND the 4pin power thingy are both in the way

Look there, it's just not gonna fit... damn this really sucks... Eddy BETTER come up with something
Is vertically the proven way to have it for best performance?
Glad you asked that.Quote:

With my Apogee GT the answer was yes.
With the EK Supreme my results say no. Horizontal is best.

Not saying my results are 100%, but that's just what I found.

Garrett :
I've send Eddy pics of the block on my DQ6, so he can see how much clearance there's needed.
Anyway, he's working on it and all we can do is wait.
I have no tested indefinitely, as there is already a block mounted on my CPU but clearance even on the DFI P35 board seems close and that's the cleanest CPU socket area on the market (arguably).
patience, there will be LGA775 only plate soon :D
