Yes, you are right.
Dear all own 9/12 BIOS user:
9/12 BIOS has some problems. I already received new BIOS 9/13.
I would test myself and send to everyone. Please don't use 9/12 now.
Regards
Andre
Guys 9-12 and later bios files are very beta, if you do not have a spare pre flashed chip Oskar advises you do not flash at this time.
haha, I already flashed Mine.. and now I'm posting here!
got nowhere with it though..
just flashed it back to 8/23..
I finaly got this board and i m testing E6850 on it

Quick question, with how close the PCI-E 16x is to the NB... is there a problem with reverse mounted HR-03's?
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...X/IMGP0484.jpg
That sort of mounting? Was just wondering as this board has recently caught my attention. Thanks :)
EDIT: From my views of it, I am going to say it is very likely that this will not work :(
Hi All,
New to the forum, but have been reading your good works for a while now
I picked this board up a few weeks back and have been tinkering with the bios settings trying to get a decent overclock with an E6600 B2 and a Q6600 B3. I am still messing around with the Quad but I am waiting to get a new liquid cooling kit, as the Q6600 gets quite warm.
This is what I have for the E6600.

I was wondering about real world performance, would there be any difference between the 533 mhz 1:1 ratio and the 5:6 ratio at 640 mhz as they are quite close with super pi ?
Thanks for any input.....Ron
Sorry for the double post
Freak accident.
@ PcCI2iminal
Thanks a ton for that :)
Here is 9/13 BIOS testing. I didn't compare with 8/23 bios, but I am sure it worked perfect on dual core and quad core.

If you want this beta 09/13 BIOS, pm me your email address. I would be sent to you quickly.
Andre
Here is from Oskar's 9/13 New Bios option FSB 500/DDR2 1200 CL4.
It would have 200~300 Read MB/s and PI is faster about 5 sec on 32M.

Does anybody who owns this motherboard know if you can adjust fan's speed in bios to go below 1000rpm. I noticed that there is fan control for this board but does it allow fans to go below 900rmp with low cpu temps.
Looking forward to trying that bios Andre you have pm...
@ AndreYang
i've checked my email and thx for your quick response :toast:

Before I got this board, I thought the Transpiper is a waste of money and would not be all that effective.... After seeing how putting a small fan on the PWM HS helped both the PWM and NB temp, maybe this thing will actually work and is more than just the gimmick I think it is.... I got curious and did some test to see how effective the transpiper really is....
Since were testing the nb and pwm temps, I figure Ill bump up the vcore, nb, sb and vtt voltages and run orthos for a bit....
test voltages..
Vcore 1.55v ( .03v droop with anti-droop enabled:( )
vtt 1.6
vmch 1.9
vsb 1.95
First I ran the board without the Transpiper, I put a lil fan on the pwm hs and thats it.... I dont even know where I got this fan from, its quiet but doesnt push alot of cfm...
http://ocidb.com/albums/userpics/100...thos_no_TP.PNG
Now with transpiper with a 90mm 53cfm fan... I positioned the TP so the air from the fan doesnt affect any other part of the board.. excuse the mess lol...
http://ocidb.com/albums/userpics/10062/DSC00735.JPG
The TP did lower the temps but only by a lil bit...
http://ocidb.com/albums/userpics/100...thos_w_TP2.PNG
Now I positioned the TP the way I think it will be the most effective cos the fan is also blowing at the nb...
http://ocidb.com/albums/userpics/10062/DSC00730.JPG
Now the difference in temps is alot better, but this is also in a way not a good comparison cos the nb is also getting some airflow...
http://ocidb.com/albums/userpics/100...os_with_TP.PNG
So what do I think of the Transpiper? after doing this test I still believe its a waste of $$... It could be more effective in a cased computer but in my application its not worth whatever $$ it added to my cost.... My test wasnt that comprehensive cos I only tested in one setting, also the voltage I used were not what most users will use 24/7 so again it could be more effective than I think...
On the other hand, I think the board kicks ass... only had a couple of litres of ln2 to play with but thats all I needed to beat my best oc... ( had IP35p before )... cant wait to see what shes got with more time to play..... :)

Andrew with 9/13 bios how high can you clock with 5:8 divider ?
@all,
is it now safe to use this 9/13 beta bios?.. TIA..
hooray my board arrived yesterday... tested it today a little bit. i have to say its hell of a lot more better than my previous board ( asus p5k deluxe )
heres a screenie of the highest fsb i was able to conjure up hardly with out any kind of tweaking. :D
more tweaking. and im sure that i can take it much higher :D

I just got my stuff setup yesterday. I am really wanting to try this new bios but I already had a C1 post problem that took a little while to get sorted. I dread seeing that after others have talked about a dead board with that exact posting issue.
Dont know if anyone else is experienceing this problem, but ive just finished setting up my board, and opened up CPU-z to have a look around, im using the middle PCI-e x16 slot for my GFX card and ive noticed my card was only running x1 capable of x16  so I went to the bios noticed it was set to 1x 1x so I cahnged it to x4 N/C, now it says its running in x4 capable of x16, :( WTF is going on, how the hell do I get my card to run at x16.
Im using the latest bios from the DFI site, any help on this would be good as I cant live with x4, otherwise everything else is perfect.
Oh and I also got the C1 error code when I first set up this board, the way I got around it was to post on 1 stick, enter the bios and bump up the memory voltage a touch, this board under volts mem just a little, then restarted and put all 4 sticks in, worked fine after that, 4 x 1gb Crucial Ballistix 667mhz.
Hi yes it is the card in my sig a BFG 8800GTS, had it for a while now, I did at one point used to get this issue on an ASUS board I think it was the P5B deluxe, but that as far as I can remeber was an ASUS problem, and a quick restart used to fix that.
Do you think the extra if I plug in the extra floppy connector to the top of the PCI-e slot that would help ?
