DaBit,
It's good to see you in here. I have followed your various posts at different places on the net and it's an honor to have you here. I hope you will continue to stop in and give us the benefit of your knowledge in this area. Welcome to Xtreme!
:toast:
berkut,
Sorry to interupt the flow of your pics bro....keep up the great work...I have learned so much from just looking at all the great detailed pics you post than anything else. Your thread is a real goldmine of howto information and I look forward to each new post. :D
berkut my young friend....you are doing some great stuff.:D
if i only had your talent when i was your age....;)
looking good.....you will have it running soon it looks like.:toast:
right now im cleaning the system with a very strong bleach, too much bacterias r in the water cooling loop :(
ill be also testing the new water cooler - ive modded my old condenser... ^^ pics soon (if it wont leak)
Looking good, Berkut. :D
I notice you are using a squirrel cage fan rather than a propellor type fan. That's an excellent choice. A squirrel cage fan provides a much more positive airflow than a prop fan, and can push against a substantial resistance. This would be very important if you decided to duct the airflow outdoors. Ducted systems. such as central A/C, always use squirrel cage fans, because they can force air through the duct.
My heatercore i use for watercooling has 2x380cfm toriodal (squirrel cage) fans on it, the air pressure is immense.
Could pick up a car turbo and spin that up if u really wanted pressure ;)

yea, a 120000-160000rpm turbo charger would be insane ^^
when i was changing the baseplate on the one with wheels i managed to rip the compressors baseplate and the whole system hang on the 12mm suction line :slobber:
ill post some pics of it soon (i think nothing bad happened- seems to be ok)
btw. the wheels are great, for a 70kg pos its very easy to move ^^
Yet more pictures of this beaut, I can't wait to see it up and running berkut, almost as much as you I would imagine. :D
tomorrow my flex hoses and fittings should be home, on friday should be my oil separator... almost everything ^^
later ill make my evaps so the system should be ready within.. a week ? :D:D:D
hope my curse wot work again and smth. wont start leaking :|
i have to order a 4L can of R23 for testing ;] That will cost me ~ 120$
Pics ^^
Ill start with my todays accident when the compressors baseplate was ripped apart when the shole cascade fell down from a 10cm high:
The 12mm suction pipe got bent a little and the poliurethane foram inside the HX didnt let me lift the compressor up so by means of a car lifter i elevated the baseplate to the aproperate heigh:
And here we can see the modded condenser (cools water)
Beacause a 10mm OD pipe is to little and so manu turns woul make the water flow unbearably low i decided to split it in to 3 lil loops:
The whole system ^^
Note that only the I stage is installed and runnin and the bucket of water stands directly where the relief tank will be ^^
And a very nice pic of the water inside my bucket, notice the waves caused by the vibrations produced by the compressor
looking good. i like how everything is on one shelf, very similar to my case i made for my system. cooling on bottom, computer on top. is the computer going on the top of it all or are you going to have hoses extend outwards?

Here you go ^^
Im thinking of fitting the system with a additionall water chiller made out of my danfoss SC10B, it should cool ethanol down to -40C easylly and would be perfect for a chipset/ memory and all other stuff needing any cooling
haha i like that dinosaur 8k7a. my setup is almost the exact same but its a single stage and a lot smaller. wheels and all too! good work so far, keep it up.
ok so whats going on with the water? ive been watching this whole thread so maybe u posted it a while back and iforgot...the water is going to cool the radiator?
Water cools down the condenser
Anyway- the system with the fan assembly
I added fan grills cause this fan rotates REALLY fast (the engine was supposed to rotate 2 fans) and i found how to wire it so it turns 3x faster than before- so its a real hurricane
^^
Thats one scary fan.
How many DB ya think?
How much long till its complete?
the fan is almost completely quiet
cfm ? hmmm, like 400 at least
if everything goes like it should maybe ill finsh it in the next week
so then whats the fan for? is that to cool the water? lol u got so much cooling giong on its hard for me to understand whats cooling what...i got the main coolin unit down and thats what counts right;) i know that the whole thing is gona cool one lil thing;) very very cold:toast:
