Just to be sure, can you plug another PSU into the rig. If it doesn't boot then bad component. More than likely it would be the mobo but it could also be the CPU. I'd just try and be sure it is the PSU before entering RMA hell. Nothing worse than RMAing the wrong part.:brick:
I read through this whole thread today and the highest memory I've seen is 620mhz. Any body make it higher than that? If I see a few at 625mhz I'm getting one of these today....
Finally got a new P5n-e Sli, on the old one the bios got corrupted so i rma'd it. However I still can't get my pc to run a qdr higher then 1200 mhz... on 1220, 1250, 1280, 1300 it won't boot. but on 1333, it will boot, however it is very unstable. even wen i upped both the north bridge voltage and the cpu voltage to the max ...
So since this is my second p5n-e, with the same problem ... i'm guessing my e4300 isn't a very good overclocker ...
Any thoughts on this?
My first e6300 was limited to 400fsb no matter what the settings were. This e6300 will boot at 532fsb. And yes, I believe some cpu's have an fsb wall. Try another cpu to be sure.Quote:

Right now I have 1092 QDR set with the CPU running at 2457MHz, 1.35v. I have boosted the RAM to DDR873, linked on the 5:4 divider and it is solid on Orthos. I can't get to 2500MHz on the CPU no matter what voltage I run. The board just refuses to POST forcing a reset of CMOS/BIOS. Cooling is not a factor here as both chipsets are on a standalone water loop (3/8" single 120 rad). The CPU is on another water loop (1/2" dual 120 rads) and the temp is 31c after 1 hour of Orthos. The RAM has its own fan (an OEM HSF fan blowing on it) and the mobo itself is cooled by a 250mm fan in the side panel.
Since the RAM is solid I am left with a weak board or a weak CPU. I very much doubt that this CPU is incapable of anything more than 2457MHz. If you guys have any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated otherwise I guess I RMA the board.
EDIT: Nevermind, I am RMAing this board and moving up to an ASUS P5N32-E SLI Plus.
I've hit 501x8 1:1 mem 4-4-3-4 and 130 pci-e in SLI mode on the budged board;)

I've just recieved this board, still waiting for my cpu (e6600 b1) and ram (super talent pc6400C4) so not up and running just yet. I have reseated the nb heatsink and put as5 under it and put a 40mm fan on using two screws down between the fins. Also put a Zalman NB-47J on the sb. Do you think this will be enought cooling? Will be watercooling the cpu...
I was wondering which bios to use? Will of course be overclockingit!
Nice. If I get close to your results, I'll be very happy. I was going to go for 2 160gig WD SATA hard drives to run in RAID, but I think this board will make me happier. Plus, new cpu and ram and I've got my HTPC...Even happier about that...Quote:

Got this board a couple of days ago. Set it up and it booted fine. Went into bios and setup my ram like it was supposed to. Rebooted and was going to install windows. Couldn't get to the installation because my keyboard didn't seem to work. Hard reboot after this I haven't been able to get a video signal. It seems to boot of fine, without any beep codes, just no video signal.
