Hi, anyone have any experience using the OCZ XTC cooler with this motherboard? Cause the ram retention clips are only a few millimeters from the graphics card..

I have, it wont fit.
Read my review here:

WTB : DFI P35 UT heatpipe cooling. PM me if not using yours and keen to sell.
I am using the dominator fan and it fits fine. It is close but not terrible.
How? My GPU makes physical contact with the RAM latches.
OCZ Ram Coolers won't fit. :D Got a chance to try it out recently with a system I built with that ram cooler.
I got the Corsair instead. Its close but fits just right.
Windwithme used the corsair ram cooler when he test the DFI LP LT X38 which has the same layout as the P35.
As everyone else has said the Corsair cooler here also. I use a piece of thin cardboard between it and the video card.
Antec Spot Cool comes in quite handy in these situations.
Doesnt seem to be a lot of love for the transpiper so I thought I would post my experiences.
I thought the transpiper was a gimick and nothing more but my case is cramped and I wanted to cool it, my G card and CPU are watercooled at the moment.
Whilst overclocking the chipset temprature went as high as 74 degrees on one occasion and is causing instability.
I used the transpiper outside of the case over the psu fan with the thermal goop they give you with it (but importantly not using the copper plate to connect to the cpu), no change at all.
A quick re-arrange of the PCI and PCI express cards I try again this time internally. I do away with the thermal goo they give you and used a decent amount of arctic silver 5, now temps have dropped signifficantly to 61 degrees (still not cool enough obviously but a big improvement.
Anyone know the size of fan the bracket takes with the standard clips? looks like a 60mm one but unsure, that would improve cooling further.
My advice, get some decent thermal goo and give it another go and spend some time doing it.
Need to work on memory now. Prime 95 when I test the CPU at 3.8GHz is fine, if I do a mixed test on memory also I get random crashes, so need to check voltages and heat.
One last thing, has anyone hooked the included audio module to the front of their case? I cant get it to play back through there.
Do you mean celsius or fahrenheit? 61c is still hot for your chipset.
Did you use the ribbon cable for the sound card and wire the front case inputs to the board?
Hmm, not here.. The edge of latch is separated from the PCB but a few mm, I'd say 5mm or less.. Think I'll try the Corsair soon.. Someone on AnandTech suggested I don't use any screw at all for the bottom part of the OCZ cooler, think i'll work?
Also I'm currently on BIOS 10/05/07, any reason to upgrade performance wise?
@The-plethora
tried putting additional fans to blow around the NB?

Not sure how you can get any closer than that.
im finally starting to figure out the right voltage settings with this board :D

@Solarfall: 1.9v :eek: but 5.5Ghz!:up:
I need an advice!
I will return the P35 these days cause it's faulty and I will have the opportunity to change to another motherboard.
Should I stick to P35 or get a X38/X48?
I will use 2x2Gb DDRII PC-8000 or greater, in the beginning and during the summer I will add another 2x2Gb kit.
Are the newer motherboards mature, or do they have problems?
Thanks
Lemme think about the x-piper man....I JUST pulled it out last night and have been pondering an installation of it. If I don't install it I'll holler at you.
Side topic: Anyone in here have any recommendations on custom air cooling for this board. I'm running 7 120MM stock case fans and an 80MM on top of the case... also running the TuniqTower120 at 100% 24-7. My OC is at 3.72GHZ on a q6600 G0, 4x1gb of crucial ballistix tracer PC2-8500 at 1117MHZ (it's the 465mhzx8 walkthrough from Anandtech (I believe) ). My temps are OK, but I want to get more out of this q6600 -like 4ghz?-... but on AIR. Any words on changing the 120mm inside of the TT120 to get more CFM (but not TOO much noise)and then higher freqs stably?
Thanks for any advice!
Yeah, but what temp drops will I see with that pig installed? : )
