Glad to be able to help, Factotum.
Glad to be able to help, Factotum.
Shoot! I thought I got lost here when I saw 174 pages. This is nice, thanks kup, you made it very easy for a noob persons like me, talking about the updated very clear step by step Rampage conversion on the first page. Thanks!
One question, Can I go straight to RF308 from MF1004? Thanks... told you I'm noob...:)
Flashing back to stock (proper) board bios now added to the first post.
Nice work kup!
Man, this is messed up. Guess we're back to noobs asking a thousand questions about flashing when its been covered a million times in this thread. I'm really pissed about this.
@E_E: Yes, I was using dominators but sold them on ebay. They were great with this board but I needed the money :D
Man, this is just wrong.... 174 pages of a mish-mash of information. Sad. :shakes:
Really?! I've always wished this thing would as quickly as my previous P35 board (IP35 Pro or P35-T2R, can't remember). It takes a good 10-15 seconds chillin' with first part of POST, then goes into the RAID ROM for another 5-7. I'm at least 15-20 seconds slower than other boards and it drives me crazy when testing OC settings.
I only have 73. :D A single large thread is nice, but can be so very difficult to go through. I suppose as long as the first thread has EVERYTHING, it's not a total loss. Still, I'd like to see sub forums for a board and maybe 5 nice threads w/ a sticky up top. :D
Someone merged the threads? Bad idea me thinks. Well yes, we have a search function, but still. Not a good idea at all.
It's not really that bad of an idea like some of you said. Actually, it's good to consolidate all maximus/rampage related threads into one if you think from another aspect. At least the mod did consolidate all the crucial infos in regards to the mobo itselt to OCing to Rampage conversion all in the first page, that's what matters the most IMO.
Don't forget there's also search this thread option tab on the top of the page if you ever wants to go into details of someone's post reply in regards to what you want to know.
Anyways, I think we should do less talking about threads merging as it has been done and more talking on the actual mobo itself, OCing, and Rampage conversion aftermath results :)
Hi, all I can say is well done to the moderators for merging all the threads. It was getting very silly three of them all with the same posts going on, nuff said already :-)
Chris
I was on 907 a few days ago, and have been running my 3.8GHz on it for quite a while...
I'm taking this over to the pure Maximus SE thread... :)
I don't think anything is really corrupted...
I can't overlook the facts that:
It started the second the GX2 was installed...
I had been running at 3.8GHz for months with no issues.
Both BIOS 907 and 1004 produce the exact same results for me.
You have no idea how many combos I have tried... ;) (Bordering on obsessive-compulsive disorder!)
No setting wen't unchanged, or searously overvolted.
My system has just primed the above setting fine for 7 hours with thoes low volts. No sign of system issues at all.
Me moving my FSB from 385 to 390 should not take a ton more voltage to pull off. I have already given it as much as I dare. It didn't help.
I need to hear from a GX2 Maximus SE guy... Are you out there? :)
Wow, Kup! Nice job on the first page update.
Any word for 0308 on E8400s? Zucker? Grnfinger? Try it yet? ***EDIT: I read Grnfinger's comments; thanks!
I got a 9800GX2 last weekend. Thanks to Cajer for the Maximus help, it works GREAT!
Yeah, well...MF or P5E bios, depending on which board you have. The flashing method is the same, just replace the Rampage Rom name with the Maximus / P5E Rom name and use the same switches, as listed on the first post.
I'm pretty sure the 0308 is as good or better than 0219 for 45nm, as Grnfinger uses an 8400 and he seems happy as Larry with it.
I'll try to find something for you in regards to read points but I'm not sure if the list is with LLC enabled or not. I'll look into that too.
chawks2, did you use the 266 strap to get over 450 ?
Hello I am new to the forum and to overclocking.
I have read the 40 odd pages and successfully flashed my Maximus Formula to Rampage formula, now I would like some advice as to how to overclock it.
Please can someone give me settings that will work specific to the components I have in my pc. I would like to try and acheive an overclock of 4ghz from the E8400 is this possible?
Many thanks in advance.

There's a Maximus Extreme 1007 as you can see HERE. Are you sure you're not getting confused with the DDR3 board?
Hi there, about the convertion, I'm still in the process of reading the posts and trying to learn more and more about the problems that people are encountering! So far, what I don't like is the detram hang that some people are having from time to time. I know that they have different ways of walking around from it but they said that its not a permanent fix. I wonder if it will be sure issue for every MF converting to RF or to some only? Is there a permanent fix for that problem which I have missed reading? Thanks!
man this rampage 0308 BIOS is pickier than 0219. Anyone else agree? Should I switch my 2 sticks of ram to the white slots? would these be the A slots?
