Try 401, Patriote.
Patriote......I run 399 x 9 with the following:
Asus P5B Deluxe (1212)
E6600 at 3.6 Ghz
4x1GB G.Skill 6400 HZ (1:1) 4-4-4-12
Sapphire X1950 Pro 512MB
PCI Express Frequency: 101 (solved PCI-E x1 problem)
vCore: 1.5125 (1.50 Actual)
vMem: 2.05
vFSB: 1.40
vNB: 1.45
vSB: 1.50
vICH: Auto
Everything 'Enabled' except 'Max CUPID Value Limit.'
I am Orthos stable for at least 1/2 hour, which is where I stopped. That is good enough for me. I have been unable to boot above 470FSB x 8. I think the memory is at it's limit. I have air cooling so 3.6 Ghz is my limit.
HAPPY MOTORING
Is that the Beta BIOS then? What does it offer over the last official BIOS?
That's not very long at all but I notice thats the way it is @ Xtreme Forums, normally people think a quick run of Super-PI is stable :)
In the U.k we seem to be moving towards at least 8-12 hours of stability tests, anything less is considered *unstable*.
I'm a 24 hour man myself!
Big.Wayne......they have released newer bios', 1215 and 1216, per the following link.
http://support.asus.com/download/dow...l=P5B%20Deluxe
My computer is stable 24/7 for my use, which is all I am concerned about.

Hey I notice the timer has gone a bit funny in your orthos, I wonder, do u have a DVB-T card installed? because thats what happened to me during my testing until I realised and close the DigiTV software (it changes the PC's time to match the TV schedule kinda).
Oh those are still showing up as BETA bios here
May try them at some point but the PC seems good atm (apart from it changing to 1x PCI-E at the weekend?).
anybody figure out a workaround for the slow boot problem with the Soundmax drivers? I'm using generic Vista audio drivers, don't want to risk it :wasntme:
I just bought a Creative X-Fi XtremeGamer and installed that! I didn't mind the slow boot-up so much as the slow windows browsing *if* the windows sounds were enabled? Kinda made the computer feel slow?
I had high expectations of the ADI® AD1988B 8-channel High Definition Audio CODEC and although it does sound pretty good it still needs some work on the drivers methinks?

I got rid of that problem by making the following change in the bios:
Setting the 'PCI Express Frequency' to 101. My understanding is that OC causes this problem. There are some threads on the Asus Support Forums per the following link:

Will do but already tried 411*9 and it didn't passed. But i will try it again with 1.5v and see what gives.
Thanks doakh but im trying to get Quad core stable. I didn't had such problem with my E6600. Well, as far as i remember. And 1/2 hours of stressing with Orthos is not to be considered stable. Not at all. Especially for some who crunch for XS. (Like me) I do 400*9 stable for 6 hours... After that, the comp reboots...
I'm running an E6850 in this board now, with some recently added watercooling. I can run memtest to check the memory and runs through the night no problem. I can run Orthos small FTT's overnight as well no problem. But when I try to run Orthos Blend I get errors after about an hour? anyone any suggestions? Voltages are..
Vmem 2.30V
Vcore 1.5750V
Vfsb 1.30v
Vnb 1.55v
Vsb 1.50v
Vich 1.215v
Rest of the details in the sig..
Anyone with a Q6600 that doesn't work with a multiplier diferent than 9 ? :(
I am having same problem with same board. I got great results with 9x anyways but I would like to be able to play with 8x higher FSB. I am using 1216Quote:

same situation here :(
Also have 1216 bios.
With my previous E6400 I could do 100% stable at 515x7 !
Now with a Q6600 G0 I can only hit 100% stable 415x9, no more FSB even with x7 or x8 multiplier :(
asus !!!! give us a decent BIOS for the Quad's Please !!! :D
415x 9 was a great overclock. Do you have water cooling?
On thing about the P5B bios. It will have some support for many of the new CPUs, the 4 core w. the 1333 bus.
Most manufactures are not including that in the a bios update. To have the support you need to buy a a P35 MB. This makes me happy because I do not like installing new MBs/ every 6 to 8 months.
I am not a 100% ASUS lover. Next, I am going back to a performance board from Gigabyte. I think ASUS quality control when down. I RMA ed my P5B 4 times in a short period in time. I was for stupid stuff like the firewire went bad. No the two USB Ports for the rear header comes up as unknown device.
That goes me fro selling the board on e-bay. I will try to RMA the board one more time, when I receive a new P35 or +. I save the box and all the accessories, manuals etc. Just for selling the board when I am done with it.
And I am mad at asus because I can't get the ASUS ATK 0110of my computer. After some work, I was just able to disable it.
You can see my large post about it here, it is the last one.

Yes chuck, WC here ;)
hi all
i got a problem with the multiplier management of my P5B Dlx...
all unlocked CPU can only get 11 multi max...
2 old X6800 B2 i've tested, and now my QX6850 got same problem :(
unable to OC under cascade with QX and 11 multi ;)
i've try some different BIOS without success
someone got same problem ?
NB : already seen 13 multi with one P5B Dlx : http://beforeoverclock.com/images/X6800CPUZ@5512.png
Hopefully X38 is gonna be a good quad overclocker, so I can dump this P5B Deluxe, and use my P5K Dlx with my B3. Its not OCing over 350 on the board, and the chip did 450 on my P5K.....
Although, I may need to redo the cooling on the chip, that could be the problem. Will try some other settings and see where it goes.
Got my stable overclock sorted, not enough Vmem. But another problem, My network connection drops often. I originally thought it was my router, but I'm beginning to doubt that. Anyone have same problem?
