are these Brainpower PCBs? The overclock seems to be very inconsistent to be Brainpower PCBs.

yep it is BP PCBs
could someone help me decide what memory i should buy?
i've got an asus a8n-e and an amd 3200+
it overclocks stable at 2600mhz, haven't tested intensively higher but 2500mhz would suffice.
it's a very silent air cooled sys, with 2x 120mm and an arctic freezer 64. with qfan on it only goes 1200rpm instead of 2200rpm.
to reach 2600mhz i had to raise vcore to 1.50, stressed its 46C, 2500mhz stressed just 43-44.
I'm undecided about the next 2...
G.Skill 2GBZX DDR400 2-3-2-5
could maybe reach: DDR 500 @ 3.0-3-2-5-1T @ 2.7v
cpu 250 x 10 = 2500mhz
G.Skill 2GBHZ DDR500 3-4-4-8
could maybe reach DDR560 @ 3-4-4-8
cpu 280 x 9 = 2520mhz
What would give the best performance?
Right now I've got corsair 3500LL pro but won't go higher than 240mhz 2.5-3-3-8 on 1t :slapass:
On 2t it will reach 260mhz
Is that mem related or memory controller?
i'd go for the HZ. you know you'll at least get 250. my ZX dont go very far
My HZ so far on default 2.6V went to 260 tested.
hello
are these chips pre-tested ?
How did you guys get the 2GBZX to do 260MHz 1:1 with 3-3-2-5 ???
I got it to do 260MHz, 1:1 3-3-2-5 with FSB of 260MH, no dividers, and followed GS.Technician's bios settings...it boots to windows, but 3DMark05 will hang and games like Need for Speed Most Wanted will also hang randomly...about a minute into the game..
i have to run a 9/10 divider 180MHz to make the RAM do 236MHz FSB in order to run...
After a week at 240 1/01 3-3-2-7 I just kicked mine up to 250 1/01 and had to go to 3-3-3-7 timings. My eventual goal is to get my Opty 170 to 2600 hopefully the ZX will still function at 1/01
I'm running the VDimm at 2.7
Just like the new Mushkin Redlines (2GB) and the OCZ PLatinum EB (2GB), I don't think these sticks are very 3D stable (they probably all use CE-6).Quote:

yeah i think its Windows...and Memtest stable...but it sure as hell ain't 3D stable like you said...3dmark05 and games will hang....
funny how RAM can do that! run memtest and boot windows fine, but crash in games...
Heat from the graphics card would be one explanation.Quote:

Through experience, 3D stable and Prime/memtest/SPi stable are two very different things. I primed my sticks @ 260 3-3-2-5 for ~36 hours (I forget the exact number, it was a few days ago), but I'd crash eventually in CS:S and NFS:MW. I'll be playing some other games to see if it's just those two (for some reason), but I seriously doubt it. I'll also try giving it more volts.
Thnx for the advice guys, I think I'll play save and order de HZ for an extra 30 euros
yes, its prime and mem test stable of course!Quote:

hmmmm how many ppl experience about 32M memtest stable but no game?
I've have 4 gigs of the new infineon chips, one pair of gskill ZX the other redline 4k, and have seen prime, memtest, and OCCT stable settings fail very quickly in games on a DFI expert (shipping BIOS). Even with considerable tweaking the only way to get it stable was to drop the frequency.
my gskill zx is is game stable and prime +super pi.. @500mhz on div. 2.8volts.
how come my gskill says jade star tec..
i think somehow they did the spd code wrong!Quote:

Needless to say that I am quite pleased with my first AMD build, this setup blows away my old P4
I hope to eventually get 2600 out of the Opty, and hope the GSkill will follow ;-)
Me, im also one that experiences this.Quote:

But if i move it down to 247 stock timings but CAS3. Its perfectly fine and stable in everything games and stress testing programs.
G.Skill Tech can you provide any light on this issue?
i have no idea about this. i don't have good vga card to play game :(Quote:

im stuck @ 3-3-3-7 250MHz 2.8V too, perhaps 2.7V would work too haven't tested yet.
I can't get any timings tighter or even memtest errors out...
anywayz, I'm quite happy with the overclock, these are better timings than the HX @ 3-4-4-8 250MHz
have run dual torture large FTT + mem torture for over 5 hours, so I consider it stable... gaming and 3d marks all go perfect...
currently running at sig specs... quite happy :)
