i just dont understand this memory. All the reviews i have seen show that although it may be completely stable via Prime95, Memtest, SuperPi, etc, but it will then be unstable in a game. WTH? I dont understand how this happens, and its rather frustrating considering usually its SuperPi 32M, Prime and other tests that we are trying to satisfy, not games! Im not sure what im gonna have to do if my next pair dont budge from 250 either. Now to ship these off and be without a computer for a week or so, bummer... :(
I can't even run 255 game stable.
I've tried everything, changed to yellow, switch around in yellow, same with orange, tried every voltage, tried all these different trefs and drive/data strengths, nothing.
Mikal, This is the RMA'd set yes?
We have got to be looking at a board to IC issue here....What Rev is your board Mikal? Do you know?
It would be located on the bottom of the bottom PCI (not PCI-e) slot if the board was mounted in a standard ATX case, so its kind of hard to read in a case. Should be something like AA0 or A02, etc.
Uh-oh, I wish I'd read the whole of this thread before ordering some of these sticks, I have an X2 4400 CPU.
I recently tried some Ballistix, but they were a bad set (one stick liked 2.6-2.7v while the other liked over 2.8v)
This will be the first time I've ever tried OCZ, and i'm hoping that these ones will work. But after reading some of the replies here, i'm not too confident any more :(
If the sticks can run with my CPU at 240x11, 265x10, or 270x10, I'll be very happy
You'll be fine, these are good sticks overall. These issues are likely due to other things.
Yes this is the RAM I got back from the RMA, I can't seem to find where the Rev is located, I'll take out my tuner card and get a better look, CPU-Z says rev A3 but that might be the chipset?Quote:

I still can't find it, it's printed on the PCB right? I didn't see any stickers
its tricky to find. like look at the PCI slots under the 2nd PCI-e slot. they are stickers. its on the topside of the PCI slots
Okay, found it, it was on top of the Second PCIe 16x slot, it is AB0, is that old and bad? haha
thats kinda...bad. well dfi said nothing was wrong with it, but we have a suspision that AB0 has some issues with ram at high frequencies

Err.. :stick:
I assume it is the board over my CPU's mem controller
Maybe my stepping can help:

LBBLE 0517BPDW
I've had tccd up to 300 2,5-4-3-8 with that rev, 2x1gb UCCC@265, and uttch @265... No probs at all... Only tweaking tccd's but then ran fine.
i cant find the rev anywhere on my board...

The rev should be on a sticker on the 2nd PCIe 16x slot
ok, finally found it, its literally on the side of the slot itself, not on the PCB at all. Mine is rev AC0. So that kinda eliminates the mobo theory being the Platinum EB's are incompatible with a specific rev of DFI NF4 Ultra-D's.
Not entirely Budwise....AB0 and AC0 are the 2 newest or 2 of the newest rev's....a change in the termination resistance etc in these newer rev's can make them more "unfriendly" to some IC's.
We will know more when you get your new kit...although Mikal is already on a replacement kit...that is why I was pointing to the bit about board issues.
For instance...these boards Hate Hynix IC based ram modules...don't run it well at all.
Although yours might if they changed something...Mine is AA0 and it doesn't run them well at all (the Hynix that is)
So it could be the boards?
I don't know. These are brand new kits....not hours and hours of testing yet...can't say if its board or not.
Would you be interested in sending me your sticks so I could try here?
I know Marcus got far better results (280*10) 3D stable with 2 different kits on his Asus board.
I showed in this thread my Max stable clocks for 3D (272) but I run 265*10 because that is the "sweet spot" on my CPU...it doesn't like 2.7GHz.
i guess i will find out with the new kit. I will be sending my sticks off on Monday, and im gonna try to ask OCZ if they will ship at the same time so i dont have a LONG down time. Do they do that Ryder?
Just ask Support...they will probably want your CC number for collateral, but yes Bud that should be doable. :)
awesome, thanks... Im guessing they are not open on Saturdays?
How long would that take? I just sold my Plat R2's to someone in Canada and I'd have no extra memoryQuote:

Mikal, you have my email....we can talk about it there :)
 crap, i have a revision AB0 board
gawd i hope my system likes these sticks....
but i don't get to find out until maybe next friday. my sticks are on pre-order
until then i'm stuck with an unstable system with 1 stick of ballistix
