Gaspar luck of the draw i guess
my CAA2C 0505 APMW with single eVGA 6800U PCI-E :)

got my new one today from ZZF... looking good so far...
i'll post pics later...
so far its hit 2.65 superpi stable at 1.5 volts
Finally i figured it out. Its like i said earlier.. a bad memory controller.
If want to run RAM at 260+ when running CPU at 2400-2500Mhz or more, i have to loosen Trtw and Twtr to 2, and set Max Async Latency to 7ns.
Right now im doing 275*10 1.5-2-2-5 with Trtw 1, Trtw 1 and 7ns. 1.65v / 3.5v. If i tighten one of them, instant reboot.
This chip is going in my gaming rig. No good for benching.
probably a motherboard problem i tested same 2x 256MB KHX3200K2/512 BH-5 ram in both MSI K8N Neo2 and DFI NF4 SLI-D only K8N Neo2 handles my ram at 270+ mhz 2-2-2-6 7-12-2-2-1-1 while DFI NF4 only can do 2-2-2-6 7-12-2-2-1-2
I just wonder if these CPUS are actually worth it?
Seems only a few have been any good..
But we need more People to test them...
Please Go post your Steppings in my Amd OC database in my Sig, Please Note you have the AS Clawhammer core
id really like to see if theres a difference in these chips...
Nope.. atleast I dont think so. Its a DFI nF4 .. and with my old NewCastle I can run 275 with both Trtw and Twtr 1 .. and max asynx 6ns.Quote:

hmm.. well these probably arn't as bad as they are seeming now (not that they are 'bad' regardless but yunno what I mean). Where hearing 'not stable past 2600mhz no matter what volts. Then they tell us they are 55-60c, well... take a guess why. I know all of you arn't like that, there are some bad chips, but still. 60c and it's likely ur gonna be losing stability.
I'm thinking it may be my mobo. On my Neo2 I could run my FX-53 at 2.5ghz with around 1.7v. My Giga board won't even think about it. I'm just ordered a Neo2 to confirm my theory.
You are absolutly right sir.. ~60c doesn´t help stability at all.Quote:

that dosn't sound good, I'll be using a k8ns ultra when it gets back from rma :( I plan to mod the hell out of it, but still... Don't think some extra caps would help anything too muchQuote:

I personally tested 5 of them, and each and every one of them OCs well. :)
3 0506 week, 2 0505 week.
All of them were able to prime stable at aleast 2.8G with vcore 1.6 or less,
with water temp set to 20C.
PI stable clocks were around 2.93G~3G.
3D stable same as above. :)
(but I had to set the water temp to 4C to achieve 3G, 20C for 2.93G.
big differance ;) Guess 3G would be kind of hard with normal water cooling)
The only problem right now is that my retailer
here has gone out of stock with these babes. :D

I thought I would try stock voltage first to see how far it will go. CPU-Z
reads as 1.456
I'm doing this quickly so I am running SuperPi 1M and the occasional 8M
or even 32m down the road for stability. I do not run my systems 24/7,
only for benching so I don't prime... I've never had any luck with it
anyway... I can't even pass prime at stock clocks on my FX-55 :p:
I'll 3D bench later at the higher overclocks with SuperPi 32M for stability
but so far so good the chip looks pretty good at stock voltage... let's
just hope it likes more juice...
Testing with DFI Ultra-D 310P bios Mushkin BH-5 2x256 1.5-2-2-5 and threw in
an x700 pro....

Okay I've upped the volts a bit and cpu-z is reading 1.504v
chip is looking pretty good at 2.7ghz
11x246 SuperPi 1M and 8M

CAA2C 0506 BPMW
prime stable for 6.5 hours (no errors) with only 1.53 volts hit 2.76 ghz
this is my chip from zzf... seems to me that the 2 is better than the Z but maybe it's too early to make any conclusions...
i'll try 2.8 (11 x 255) but that's gonna be it for 1:1 with my pc3200VX... these sticks haven't been burnt in yet so I'm gonna need to do some burning in to get past this 255 hill (240 - 255 htt memtest stable with only 3.3 volts)...
http://www.johnshim.com/a64/3500/2755.jpg
Nice work shimmishim,
Well 11x255 for 2805mhz was good to go at 1.648v... that's it for today I'll do more
tomorrow... this BH-5 is good for 278 1:1 so I hope this memory controller can take
it.... :)
11x255 2805mhz @ 1.648v
Edit I actually bumped up the voltage more than I wanted... I was meaning to do between 1.55 and 1.6 but those damn percentages! ;)
http://www.jpop.com/maru/3500g.jpg
Okay really one more before I sleep:
11x264 2905mhz @ 1.648v
http://www.jpop.com/maru/3500h.jpg
anyone running 2x 512MB OCZ PC3500 Platinum Limited Edition BH-5 on these cpus ? i am in shock as with this cpu and DFI NF4 SLI-D i'm running memtest @ 266-270mhz 2-2-2-6 1T at 3.5-3.6v super pi, 3dmark2001 and pcmark04 memory test all passable!
