Cheapest source for Swiftech 603V

I have now done 4 orders with them and they are a good outfit.

The 603V(s) are 45.95 a piece; that is at least $5 cheaper than straight from Swiftech and at least that much cheaper than you can get them from anywhere else ( AFAIK ).

If you are going to mount the 603V through the motherboard's monting holes then you will also need a set of MCX603-VSR2's, which can be found at www.swiftnets.com, for 3.95 ( per heatsink ).

Between 280 and 320... depending on your luck with the candidates it crunches that day... and how high you can OC the chips :up:

Ive just set everything up and cant get my Xeon rig to boot :(

I followed instructions on doing to u-wire mods to my PC-DL (1.6v). Applied AS5 to the mosfet sink. AS5 under the NB sink. Added a ocz copper bga ramsink to the mosfet shown in the guide to sink (vdimm mosfet I think)

Went to boot and nothing appearing on screen. Monitor still on standby. Ive yet to change the fsb jumpers so it should boot @ 100x20 (2000mhz).

Setup is:

PC-DL
2x 2.0GHz LV Xeons's
IWT
2x256MB Mushkin 3500 BH-5
PC P&C SLI 510w
MX440

I dont seem to know what the problem is. Ive tried my normal PC P&C 510w psu but still no joy :(

Help would be greatly appreciated :toast:

I don't have any experience with that setup (yet), but according to what I have read, the VDDR is very low on the PC-DL. You may have to look into a VDDR mod to get the voltage high enough for your BH-5.

But I would of thought it would of booted at stock.

I'l try some OCZ 3700 Plat TCCD in there tomorrow. Bed now.

Well from what I have read, the PC-DL is only capable of providing 2.45V to 2.50V straight out of the box. Perhaps this is not sufficient to power your BH-5 modules even at default SPD timings. I don't know - I'm just throwing a few ideas out. ;)

I think you have to do the vddr mod,that sets your vdimm to 3.45v,i did this right out of the box,i am running now at 3100mhz 20x155,temps are cpu1 49°c cpu2 48°c case 55°c,but steady as a rock :banana: .

I have 4 fan's in my case,but i have to do something about that its making alot of noise,like a jet :nuts: .

But i have an other problem,my candies dont upload,the last time the did was 04-05-2005 06.13pm,the normal had to upload at 00.13am and the did not do that,somebody know what i can do,other than reboot.

I appreciate the ideas/help guys ;) I'l try my OCZ TCCD in there if it aint enough to even power that then I will do the VDDR mod.

Update:

Not even my OCZ 3700 Plat TCCD will boot. I read the vdimm and its @ 2.49v, I think thats why we have no boot :D

Im now going to do the vdimm/vddr mod. Wish me luck ;)

Success :D VDDR mod workds perfectly. Yet to try and boot though :p:

Added a fan header to read the voltages

It should boot at 100mhz.

Now that you have the MB modded, hopefully all your problems go away.

If it still doesn't boot try just one CPU. BH-5 and TCCD should atleast post at 100mhz even with 2.5v. ASUS really screwed up by not offereing more than 2.5v.

Do you have a speaker hooked up to the MB, and if so is it throwing any beep codes? My first PC-DL was DOA.

O yes i will have to put my A64 rig down for some time,my DFI's agp slot is fubar :( so it has to go in rma,i hope it does'nt take to long.

I didn't try my booster in this MB, as I just modded the MB. I used a 10k VR and I was able to get 3.4v out of it. I did not try higher. More often than not you will max out this MB before you reach the limits of anything like BH-5/UTT

Hook up a speaker and let us know what the beep codes are.

Also try with only 1 cpu in socket 1.

I had a hell of a time with my set-up. I actuall had a PC-DL that refused to run with the 1.6v wire mod. 1.55v worked fine, but it would throw the processors missmatched light at 1.6v.

Took out u-wire mods and it boots. Seems that the 1.6v mod didnt work. I'l try 1.5v and see how it goes.

Sounds like my PC-DL. There are 2 red LEDs on the MB. One for a bad AGP card, and one for missmatched CPUs. Take a look to see if the CPU one goes on.

You could have either screwed up the pin mod, or the VRM just can't handle the extra power.

Excellent! It boots.

Sometimes if you don't go straight down with the pins they can get dislodged.

Whatever. I'm just happy it booted.

Thanks. Going to try out the 1.5v u-wire mods now. It works with no u-wire mods but 1.3v simple is'nt enough I dont think ;) Im shooting for 3000MHz+ ;)
