sorry i didnt look sauria. im getting some copper paste maybe ill redo the waterblock's and the NB heatsink with it when i put new PSU and DDR booster in. if so ill take a peek for ya.

Thank you. Glad you have a winner there -- You have the Patriot XBL PC3200 TCCD 2 x 512M?
yes thats the exact ram i have. I just thought of something that may be different in my case, i took the heatspreaders of my ram modules! I suspected they werent doing ther job so i took em off and guess what maybe 25% of the chips were actually making contact. Maybe this is something to look into. Its tricky but worth it.
Hmm, interesting. What would be a minimum PSU needed for this setup?
hmm
I've got the K8NS-939 but when at 300HTT and 166 divider, ram should be at 249 but CPU-Z shows up as 233?
With 166 divider, you take the HTT speed, divided by 12 and then multiplied by 10. So you should be at 250. Maybe the K8NS has a hidden divider (143) and is setting the RAMs max integer.
What CPU multiplier are you using. I believe you may need to divide by 13.
I'm only on a 3000+ atm
My current PSU the antec 430 is working great but i want to add more drives to the system and with the 6800 in there being the power hungry beast it is i felt like a better PSU was in order so i ordered a Tagan 480. The Tagan 480 is a very refined unit that really is "480" watts and is also very quiet. This PSU does EXTremely well under stress which is what im after.
The Antec is a very solid unit but i feel like it runs out of steam when overclocking + a couple big drives. I can add another Hardrive and OC is more unstable for example.
End system will be:
Giga K8NS
2x512 Patriot
6800 (watercooled and vmodded)
3200+ @ 2.6+ (watercooled with kinda high vcore)
Audigy
1x Barracuda 160gb for storage
2x Wd Raptors in a Raid array for gaming and swap file
DDR booster
52x32x52 LiteOn burner
Ill let yah know how she does when all the extra goodies get here. Not sure this board has 300 in it but we'll see. :)
Thanks, I think you're exactly right about the Antec. I noticed this with mine on an nf7-S system loaded with stuff on a warm day last summer.Quote:

I think i have it flashed to F5, it says so when its posting, but in cpu-z it says F4.
My only querk is the low vdimm, so im grabbing a ddr booster.
early results with DDR booster 3.1v = 275x9 1:1 2.5 3 3 3 1t and thats with 4x HTT! so 1100+ HTT speed!
it keeps going and going im afraid to push it anymore! :)
Wow, with the Patriot? Can Arctic Silver 5 "glue" your CPU to a factory heatsink? I got a better cooler today and the 3200+ is stuck on the factory heatsink.Quote:

275 is pretty much max i can fool around benchin etc up to 286 or so but its not 100% stable. 275 aint so bad tho :D im not sure what is limiting me to be honest ill push it again when my new PSU gets here just in case thats the culprit!
Just for giggles i tried highest cas2 and 250 was about the max. gonna leave it at 275 for awhile to see how she does.
yeah everytime I try and take the hsf off it pulls the cpu out of the socket as well
that's with both shin etsu and as5
Hmm, thanks. How do you separate them? My CPU never ran over 31°C!
Dont pull it straight off but rather push one side on and pull one off. Tip it off if you will. Sometimes you can slide it in a manner to break the suction as well. GL!
Thanks, made me wonder if I had used my AS thermal adhesive. Any good way to avoid this? BTW -- what is the goo (not really conductive tape) that comes on an AMD 64 retail heatsink? Is the stuff on the FX-55 heatsink any better?
T.I.M thermal interface material these can be quite good actually. Ill bet for the money you spent on the fx55 its prolly better ;)
nforce 3 voodoo with RAM methinks. Tried the latest F8 BIOS?
0 problems here getting ready to do vcore mod :) anyone had any luck with higher HTT voltages?
Try one of these:Quote:

could anyone recommend a good set of 2x512 modules that are fast and stable , im not bothered about overclocking or bypassing, i just want stability at the moment, thanks for any help

I agree mine take me to the limits of my mobo with ease! i run them at cas2 246 ramspeed atm.
