Ahh, they were only talking about the combo as a suggestion to OCZ, which I think they need to jump on for sure. Combo > buying both components seperately.

the whole point of the VX is to sell the booster, its dumb to NOT make a combo

my favorite combo would be 1 gb VX + booster + 120mm delta fan for 300 shipped :D

^the type of people who buy this RAM are probably vmodded or already own a booster so an extra $30-$40 for them is a waste

thats why the combo is optional...

also, im getting this RAM tomorrow and im not vmodded nor do i own a booster yet

I'd take a 1GB + Booster combo in seconds (After I get paid that is).

Good I will wait to hear results from you guys to decide on this. Might be better than TCCD I have if I can get decently low timing around 250-270FSB range.

These should be awesome for 754 rigs where high speeds is an issue with 2x512 and 939 cpu's that have a hard time running tccd at high speeds due to mem controller.

Just ordered mine, hope it works well with an Nforce2 board for the time being till I go to 64 bit, I couldn't be bothered to wait for other people to try it out first so I though, sod it. Hope I can get 250 2-2-2-x.

Any idea on this question anyone?

what? i paid $264 including 2nd day. that was fast!

Its 289 now , WTF ?

Can OCZ do anything about the price gouging? Especially for overseas people, paying over $300(us) for something that has an msrp of $250~ is ridiculous.

I'm not ordering until they drop it back down. I'd understand a $5.00 price hike, but $25.00 in a matter of a few minutes is straight greedy.
