Stay away from 3.. You want 1,2 or 1,3.. I dont think the chipset will allow double sided ram in slots 2,3 at the same time, thats why it wont post.
Try one stick at a time.

i think u should try one stick in Slot 1 and post if u can get higher then u now the solution if not
maybe ( imho) u got a bad mem.controller in ya cpu...
i had to 230x10 1:1 or 280x8 (133mhz266) and i got no problems i tested with bh-6 and infineon cl3 :D both does work...

im using 1,3.... so i should use 1,2?Quote:

if u can use try it it may go higher but if it ran smooth on 1,3 why not....

im using 1,3 from the beginning.... and i cant get 230 stable 1:1 with bh5 @ 3.3v... and i had them way over this on nforce2
first try only 1 stick and if it wouldnt work u try 2 but slot 1,2 and check this out!
so if nothing works maybe u got a bad c0 mem.controller in ya cpu
gotya?

Yes try out using 1 and 2... On my last board slot 3 was the worst.. Meaning it wouldnt run nearly as high as the other 1 and 2.
well, here is my results until now:
- I had 2x512 in slots 1,3 and had problems being stable @ 230 1:1 @ 3.3v with BH5 chips
- Tried using slots 2,3, but it gave me an error "01", not posting
- i decided to try with slots 1,2 but had the same unfortunate results about the fsb
- tried only 1 dimm on slot 1, same results
- tried the same dimm on slot 2 and it gave me the "01" error. then i cleared the cmos and it booted fine. primed @ those settings about half an hour, when before it would crash in an instant.
my conclusions: i guess that in my board, slot1 is the weakest link. ill try slots 2,3 later, clearing the cmos and ill see if i can have good results.
post your thoughts
I had the same probs with that 01 error.. DOnt know if thats just a bug or because the system/cpu flipped out with the changed dimm slot..
Hitting the reset button always fixed it.. It was only on the first post after the change.
2 is my best slot on the new board.. The 1st was the best on the old board.
Try each stick in slot 2 to see if they will both do 250 on this chipset.
If they do then its not the ram forsure and you dont need more voltage to get the same overclock for the ram.
Most likely the prob is that the CPU is maxing out.. And usually when that happends you cant run at the max CPU speed and FSB at the same time.. If you want 250FSB then you'll have to run at a lower mult and clock the CPU lower then the max it will do.
So if the CPU maxes out at 2500MHz.. Then it wont run at 250x10 cause its already maxing out at 2500Mhz and it wont give you the high FSB at the same time.
I'll have to check your other posts.. Have you tried 250HTT x 8 or 9?
this cpu is crap, it maxes out @ 2300mhz watercooled....
so im trying the 250 fsb 1:1 with multi 8x just to see the ram boosting.
You know you have a bad chip when 250htt is reffered to as high fsb :(
Yeah no doubt its a bad CPU.. Just makin sure its not the board.
If it can only do 2300Mhz then a new CPU is what you need. heh and also that chip could probably do 2400Mhz in a different board.
My 2400+ would do 2530Mhz in my Chaintech 150 chipset and in this board i can only get around 2430Mhz stable. with the same voltage of 1.7v.
true, it gave 2400mhz rock stable on my other board, msi k8n neo plat.
well, even with only 1 dimm and in slot2, it does not stand more than 230 1:1...
where do you think the problem is? defenitly on the cpu?
Hello..
This is whit my J+ and 1x512MB 3500EB

Fosco
Probably.
What cooling is that Fosco? I cant even get 272+ in memtest86 with a single stick of 3700EB 512MB at 3.3v.
It`s whit a 92mm papst blowing on itQuote:

heh must be a nice CPU.
I tried to flash BIOS, after some issues with Undervolting the CPU i switched back to 0505 but my problem is still here. NO OVERCLOCK AT ALL (even 2080MHz with 1.65V to CPU !!!). There is also a HTT freq. I use it as 4x on 9x250 does it matter or not??? I´m really pissed of from this board. And also I hear really annoying sound from that donut near CPU.
CPU temperature is 38°C idle.
That CPU can´t be crap like this ???
I suspect the mobo.
so, what do you think i should do? trade my cpu to work this memory issue out?

 Cpu is watercooled
So is mine.Quote:

Have you tried using the 166 mem divider?Quote:

Prob a good bet to try another CPU.
yes, same thing happens... weirdest thing is that after i returned my rig to defaults, i kept getting the same blue screens until i cleared the cmos again
starting to hate this
