Let's bring the discussion back into focus :D
Were we able to run SK8V @ 260 with Corsair RE? No....
SO let's take what we've got and run with it! I want to put this thing under ice and push for big clocks even if I'm limited at 240mHz (HTT, whatever)
What are we all complaining about? Locks? Well, no.... because better than half the owners here have functioning locks. The Vdimm is our current complaint. The key here is going to be the "perfect storm", when someone with a 6800U/x800XT/Pro gets an a8v/fx53/BH5 and combines it with super cooling. I will be obliged to do this in a couple days (minus the Vid Card)....
So I'd say the KEY right now is for someone to get some 3700EB and run it up to 250-260 @ 2.5-2-2........

Bigtoe,
Thoughts on my idea of OCZ 3700EB running up to 260ish on the A8V?
C
Thanks bigtoe!
So who's gonna flash first and report back with Vdimm options up to 3.2V???????????????
:D
C
I flashed... vdimm is still maxed at 2.8.
What are the changes?
did you use e-z flash and just add .rom to the filename?Quote:

p.s. amazing! 10,000 views in 12 days.....
of course, 3784 of them are mine, lol
I used ASUSUpdate. It recognizes the bios as 1005.021 in bios and CPU-Z.
Hey Bigtoe! How about a BIOS for the K8NS Pro? I'm dying for CPU multis and perhaps a little extra VDIMM and VCORE.Quote:

3700EB...dunno m8...boards clock ram so its hard to say, all depends on how the board overclocks ram.
nycxandy
Its supposed to allow higher overclocking..how much so you guys will have to find out.

I get what i can...and post to keep you guys happy...If a bios comes available i will post it up.
To all
I haven't looked at editing these A8V bios files yet so there may be some tweaks.
If you have a spare bios chip or saviour post here so i can organise a beta test.
Im NOT promising any gains but i will have a look.
Just wondered if you had heard anything.
Thanks bigtoe!:toast:
Oh ok, because I don't see any additional or different options listed within bios.
It's hard to keep up with all the developments. LOL. I downloaded and installed SetFSB and Clockgen for A8V today. I then go to work and find out Bigtoe has another BIOS available. I'll flash when I get home tonight. Thanks Bigtoe.Quote:

Im doing my best...we have asked for more Vdimm so it should show up if the board allows it ;)
No it locks as soon as I plug in the mod.Quote:

is it possible we've been concentrating on the WRONG chip???? less than an inch away is ANOTHER LM324............grab pin 6 there maybe?????
C
p.s. in fact after looking at a sk8v modded....I really think the first mod was incorrect!
Thanks!!Quote:
Well the read is correct when you adjust the mod in real time, so I think we have the right chip unless there is an alternative spot. But it does adjust the vdim.Quote:

ive not had a glitch or a reboot at stock speeds and my locks havnt been off since i got the option in bios. So i dont know what there talking about or my luck is still holding strong(i should buy a x800pro i'd prolly get a nice clocker if this luck keeps up)Quote:

They told me that if you use them it will not be 100% reliable. That is supported by the fact that the released BIOS does not support it which is why you need the beta to even attempt to use it.
Still, if it will get through a 3DMark run, that's all you need, right?;)
Im all flashed to the .021 beta but its WAY to hot to try to be overclocking right now as it is one hot mother. ive got my case side off. 4 80mm fans and unrestricted airflow and im still gett'n 42c cpu 30c board temps:explode:
maybe, so who's gonna try 1st. I've laready smelled burning silicon once this week on this board. lolQuote:
