2D is a special week stepping, normally its YYMMXX and xx is always letters, on your chips its 1 number and one letter... still havent found ot what it means... xx is most likely a production run, something like a batch number or revision number.

Looks like all older BH5 (from beginning till ~0245) have the 2D batch. So it's nothing special tbh. :D

hmmm theres also "5e" and "2e", and all of them, "5e" "2e" and "2d" are all very good clocking chips... dammit, mine are "we" :P :D

it looks to me that the "we" and "wf" steppings were the mass production steppings, thats where winbond sold them as value memory in masses and no longer as small series of high performence memory to corsair and kingston etc

with limited vdimm (3.24v), how far the 2x256mb XMS3500C2 rev1.1 which based on bh5 can go @ 2-2-2 timing?

depends on the memory... since those sticks are rated for 216mhz 2-3-3 with max 2.8v they will most likely do 216mhz 2-2-2 with 2.8v as well since bh5 barely needs extra vdimm to run in 2-2-2... looking at the other 3500 results id say...

hmmmm .... 240-260 mhz 2-2-2 with 3.25v

id they are bad then 240mhz, if theyre good 260mhz ... depends on what mainboard your using though! on 875/865 and nf2 you will get around 10mhz less than on nf3/nf4/k8t800/k8t800pro

Hey everyone! XS.org n00b here. I got some 18 month old BH-5 off a buddy (Mushy lvl2 3500, 2x512). Hopefully it already has some "daily use" burn-in. Well, no less than 1 hour after I brought it home I was removing the heatspreaders and voiding my warranty :D . Here's what I found:

Stick 1: All 340WF stepping.
Stick 2: One side has all 340WF stepping, other side 3x340WF and 5x339WF ICs.

Is mixed ICs like I have on "stick 2" normal? I doubt it will screw up my overclock, but j/w. Also, once I get my ultra-D board from ZZF and test the modules, how are you gonna list stick 2 in the database?

About your mixed ICs... I think it does not matter, cause Mushkin - like other highend ram manufacturers - handpicks and individually tests the chips.

So there should be only the best-performing ICs on their sticks... that's why I wouldn't worry too much ;)

P.S. I am also waiting for my Ultra-D :D My ram is now able to do 272 11-2-2-2-2-12-16 at multiplier 12 (3.56V Vdimm on DFI LP B). I am really wondering what it can do in S939 systems... :toast:

yepp its totally normal.
i add those sticks to the database as 2 sticks, once under 340 and once under 339 :)

U mean the 3200C2, there are now on Rev. 6.1! But 3500C2 are out of production long long time now! ;)

Yesterday a try'd my XMS3500c2 rev1.1 mem again on the DFI nF3 250 and was suprised that the did 10x253 @ 3.14vdimm :) @ 1.74vcore(both with mm) pic's follow.

I let them burn now for a while and see if the go any higher.

XMS3500C2 rev1.1 on NF7 mobo with vdimm mod(3.24v) can go how far? at least 240 @ 2-2-2 stable or not?

depends on the board, some nf7 boards cant do 240mhz...

depends on the bh5... the average is more like 235 with 3.25v
