It won't make much difference I think.
If it was coded for DX11 from the start it should run very well, considering Dice are going DX10/11 only for BF3 because of improved effeciency.
So expect some minor visual effects and not much else.

because the games Multi GPU support is mostly broken on both AMD and Nvidia. the more and more I read about Crysis 2 and the engine the more and more I see that It was made for consoles and ported PC as an after thought. It's a real shame because the guys at Crytek who make these engines have some real talent for making an engine for PC. considering Crysis is still one of if not the best looking game to date and that was in 2006.....

Though multiplayer is messed up pretty bad atm, I still enjoyed the single player, played it on hardest diff was a blast. I already figured it was going to be consolized but I still preordered it since I enjoyed other 2 Crysis games single player, once they fix multi so servers dont break randomly I will have some more fun, but it should hold me over until Portal 2 and Battlefiled 3
Some screenshots I took throughout the game, sure they will be some spoiler screenshots I guess

guy updated to 1.5 with some new features
Changes (Verison 1.5)
*added HDR brightness level
*added Bloom level
*skipped initial login by default
*possibly fixed the no-motion blur bugs
*creates a seperate autoexec.cfg file where you open the .exe file for more easy editing.
this is a cool tool for tweaking.
my buddy with an old Amd FX-57 cpu and 9800gtx gpu was able to run crysis2 more smoothly. (lol this is a joke he cant run crysis 1 and a can run crysis 2)
What I really hate about the new crysis2 sp is that there is next to no interactive physics... You can destroy nothing... not even the trees break anymore... thats such a huge step beckwards compared to crysis1... there you could chop trees, blow up the huts and they would blow up somewhat realistc...
That's just sad.
I find it absolutely stunning that 4 years later they not only don't offer any improvements over Crysis, but they actually go backwards.
BACKWARDS
It's all well and dandy if you want to develop a title simultaneously for the consoles or bring a console title to the PC. But when you start with a PC title known almost exclusively for its stunning visuals and environments, and then fail to stay at the same level and even regress for its PC sequel, you lose pretty much any and all credibility as a quality PC developer.
several steps backwards maybe, but the lighting completely pwns crysis 1
It's a tighter single-player experience than the original Crysis. I liked the huge areas of the original, though.
I have played for couple of hours and now as I have a credibility to say, achieved by stupidity v3.
First, when you load press enter immediately gives you a heads up the beginning of the end is near. Second, what kind of mega stupid design is that you can't change your graphic settings manually? What is the catch, I have to imagine my sliders were on high if I put hardcore? This is most pathetic as I have to use a third party app provided by someones courtesy.
In game, AI is mega stupid, almost as there is none. There are two guards talking, I silent kill one of them, and they continue conversation as nothing happened. :D
There is no environment destruction and all round level of interaction is pretty low.
Graphics is nice though, but not that nice to justify that on my rig game runs like crap even on the lowest settings. Truth be told, I don't have the newest card either, but I ain't either buying a new one for this.
Overall it is quite bad provided this is the kind of game which is sold because of the graphics as the storyline is crap and gameplay is not quite compelling.
Dang this is the worst one i've seen.. those bottles look like super nintendo 64 textures, what happened to 100% real time, no procedurals, etc. joke BS.
those bottles should be rendered, have physx, and then be tesselated and culled properly or what ever. this :banana::banana::banana: is from duke nukem 3d days.
yea i did buy 3 copies for a lan party, and it was worth it becuase people like what they have done with other parts of the game however its clear that blur and fog are way over used to cover up. yes its the best dx9 i've ever seen but it falls well short - and with no destructible environments its another huge let down.
Please patch with a full dx11 OMG its crysis again patch - or "cry engine 3" will go down as the best console engine ever.
Depends you can easly make it look like crysis 2, thought there are some features missing like gi. Also the lightshafts/godrays are imho wa to overdone in crysis2... they are everywhere, when in RL there has to be certain conditions to even see them.
But the lighting alone doesn't save crysis 2...
Hell just look at the vehicel section... in crysis you had a god damn larg scale tank battle.. all you get in crysis 2 is a punny apc driving along a 10m road for 5min.. and nothing can hurt it... or even worse, you get a scripted sequence where you only can controll the turret.
Also respawning enemies suck big time... why do we need that.. first on spawned all enemies and they did there routine till you killed or outmaneuver them... now you have stupid bullet sponges that respawn indefinitely till you reach a certain area...
some low quality textures seem like a downscale form the originals to save memory because of the consoles, what I don't understand is why they didn't put the original textures on the pc version, they could still put them via a patch like Bioware did with Dragon Age 2..
You're on 3870x2 and both SLi and CF are having issues with this game, so it's probably not even running in CF mode.
I can tell you right now, an overclocked GTX 460 maxes this game out without issue at 1920x1080 with 4xtransparency SSAA enabled. It's definitely a well optimized engine.
As for people hunting for spots with bad textures, you can literally do that with every single game ever made. In motion the game looks damn good, and I'm finding the single player thus far to be a fun experience.
Personally, I'd assume that we'll end up seeing better textures with the DX11 patch.
I posted a picture of those rubbish textures and 2d bottles and trash on OCUK earlier.
Seems I hurt a few peoples' feelings.
Been told I have a crappy system, to playing on the lowest possible setting on purpose, or just looking for something to complain about. Considering this game is a such an amazing thing......
Seems I might have been inadvertantly been considered a troll now.
Silly really.

I think it's completely rubbish looking, no matter what settings you run it at.
It just changes the lighting and reduces jaggies on that 2D rubbish from the late 90's/early 2000's.
