:D Because you didn't post for several days, i was already thinking you were another corpse in the ganges :D
Fair enough, soo, can you say if BD will work in current Am3 boards? :p:

Wasn't it mentioned already that BD would? As long as VRM is good enough and there is a BIOS update supplied...
Not current boards, I do not believe it was ever stated it would.
We're talking a completely new architecture. Similar to how core 2 and p4 both worked on lga 775, but only p965 and newer actually supported conroe. Should bd fit in AM3, we'll probably need a new chipset, not just a new bios.
i believe that it is the am3r2 that will support the BD's.
Yes but you are talking Intel who just wants more money and will design a new socket everytime just to make you spend more money so you can use the latest hardware. It was stated it will use the AM3 socket, but whether it will work on our current motherboards or not is another story we have not heard yet.
What I would like to see is a socket like the ones on the server boards and intels boards. At least that way we no longer have to worry about bending the blasted pins. Anyone else agree.
At least BD will work in RD890 mobos.

Here is the latest official AMD roadmap:

Is it enough?:)
Bulldozer(Orochi) is AM3 compatible .This is official since last Analyst Day. AM3 compatible means AM3 compatible,no hidden meanings etc. One thing people will need is BIOS support.
Why isn't it a good thing? You won't see sky-high sisoft sadra mem benchmark ? On desktop 3 or more channels are useless even for an 8 core chip as Orochi. 2 channels of DDR3 @ 1600Mhz (jedec standard) is perfect. Why do you need higher HT link speed ?? HyperTransport 3 is MORE than enough for any desktop chip, you won't see any benefit from higher HT link speed since HT speed is decoupled from IMC speed on any modern(post K8/9 design from AMD). I say the compatibility with AM3 socket is a great thing,it keeps the cost for validation and testing down(CPU only level ,since chipset is validated) and partners love this(keeps their RnD costs down). Not to mention it's great for end users too ;).
For 8+ cores AMD will probably go for MCM even on desktop so quadchannel is a given ,but for 2011 Orochi will do just fine.
JF already said quad channel for BD :/ ??? lol the IMC could use a speed up date to support more mhz on the ram, since 10h is limited to around 1800mhz.
I haven't seen an I7 running 6-6-6-18 1800mhz yet though lol sure they run 2250 and some 2400mhz, it's only 25% more mhz.
wacth at uncore Phenoms....Phenom 3.2 GHz with 2500/2600MHz uncore have average performance as Phenom 3400MHz and default uncore. Think, Bulldozer will compactible with AMD800 chipset and primaliry for AM3+.
