I've had my machine for more than 2 months and I've never run across this problem yet, but I wonder if having 8GB of RAM makes a difference. I run vtt@1.2 and 21X191Mhz (4Ghz). I reguarly run a few apps, Virtual PC, and a game at the same time without a whisper of trouble, but never looked at the memory usage. Just for the fun of it, I loaded a few things up and played COD WAW for a couple of hours with no issues.
Thinking I have a good chip, 4ghz @ 1.292v idle, 1.248v Load.
My question is, my board won't post at 1600ram, I have XMS3 1600, i don't really want to run 1200mhz on the ram, timings are 9-9-9-22-64, 1.65v doesn't even help, any ideas?
It seems this is the best I can do with my cpu at 4Ghz:
Freq: 200x20 @ 4Ghz
Mem: 1.5v Gskill, DDR3-1600
Vcore: 1.4v (bios)
Vtt: 1.33v
PCH: 1.12v
Anything less on the vcore or vtt and she crashes inside of 10-12 minutes. At these settings I seem to be good for hundreds of Linx passes.
A special thanks to Miahallen, Gautam and Brutal-Force for their feedback. I am pretty happy with this setup for 24/7, it is fast and responsive.
EVGA P55 SLI (E655) + i5 750 same batch as in my previous post.

Also some benching on cold air. :D
No prime for me yet...only started today.
Not bard for a £71 board + £17.99 cooler lol....Don't think it comes any cheaper.:D

Not gone over 1.35v in bios

I run a combo of G.Skill and XMS3 1600Mhz chips in my setup. I run them at 1528Mhz (8x191Mhz) on 1.6v. Ram settings are at 8-8-8-21-66. For me, I actually found this combination to work well even though I'm underclocking a bit from 1600Mhz (my system was a little faster than using a higher Mhz setting and more stable to boot).
What are your settings for 4Ghz (20x200Mhz or 21x191Mhz)? Also, what is your RAM multiplier?
LDN
200x20 is what i'm currently at, with a ram multiplier of 6x giving 1200mhz.
The motherboard will reset the bios everytime i try to boot at 1600mhz, indicating that it's not stable.
I'm not sure if the motherboard can handle 1600mhz ram?
How much vtt for 200x20? You should try higher. What's the rated freq for your memory?
Ram is rated at 1600mhz, using 1.3vtt, purely because that's what people have stated it'll need to be at to achieve 200
I have a different Gigabyte P55 MB, but I would suspect the bios on each are close to being the same. Are you on the latest bios?
Also, I would start with these settings in your bios:
Perf Enhance: Std
Ext Mem Profile: Disable
C1E: Disable
You might want to also hard set your base RAM timings in bios (9-9-9-24)....if you're not already doing that.
Just to try and check your RAM, go back to default on the CPU 20x133 with a 10x multiplier on your RAM (that will set the RAM at 1333Mhz). If it works, than bump up your CPU multiplier by 10.....and than again (if it works). You'll quickly see if your RAM can run in the 1500Mhz-1600Mhz range.

Hey Roger. Yes but now shamino just released a new revision of that same bios quoted as the best. Here you go:

Thanks... I also was just searching some more and found the links for both a54 and a58 over at kingpin cooling... got them both and I'm testing a58 now.
Well I just got around to overclocking my i5 750 after searching all over online and did not find another L935XXX batch to see what kind of results most guys were getting out of these. I do realize however, the i5 750 batches are not as reliant on certain batch #'s for a good O/C as the i7 920 is. Needless to say Im happy with this chip:up:
L935B381
3.8Ghz @ 1.168V....4Ghz @ 1.224V SuperPi 1MB stable, did not test Orthos or P95 yet...

That's some nice results, although Pi 1M is useless. At least try Pi 32M or better yet try Hyper Pi, it uses all 4 cores.
I'm itching to get clocking mine, an L939XXX, but I'm still on the damn stock cooler until funds aren't so tight.
Anyone seen results from an L939 batch yet? I can't find any info anywhere.
just a quick run

This was just a quick play My L939 never went above 1.35v... looking good so far...as waiting on a new board...not recognising 4gb only 2gb

Prime stable room temp 30C
Not bad for a $60 motherboard eh.. Could go higher if I could figure out how to lock the 21 multiplier. I turn on the 21 multiplier in bios and at idle it is 21 but under 100% load it drops to 20.
