sick, so i made twice as much in commission today as i was hoping, definitely ordering those blocks this week
Definatly going to get one of these
it would look great in my danger den Double wide 21 case thats on its way
Any updates Frozen?
I got mine and it works great. I only have two issue with it really, both are minor
1) The top plug has little to no room for the water to be poured into the reservoir because the CCFL tube is right under it. They're both centered and there's probably 2mm at the MOST between the bottom of the hole and the top of the CCFL tube. I tried filling the reservoir (had a compression fitting on top of the res, connected with a tube to my top fillport) and only a tiny amount of water went it before it was backed up. The res is empty, but the tube above the fillhole is filled with water. So to fill it up, I had to get rid of that whole thing, use a tiny screw to move the CCFL tube out of the way, and use a squirter to get water in there. Very annoying when trying to fill it up. Will be less annoying now that I have to only top it up, but I can't use my fillport anymore, I have to remove the side panel and use the same method..
2) There's a lot of bubbles that build up in the reservoir if you fill it up to the top since the inlet and outlet are both at the bottom so in effect, most of the reservoir never gets any flow. Thinking back, it would be better to ask for the inlet to be at the top and the outlet at the bottom
So your CCFL isn't like RIGHT under the fill hole? Is it further down or is it not centered right under it?
Also, is my Accelero S1 in the mail yet? :D
Which fitting did you use on top of the hole?
Lucky people where is your pictures. Still waiting for mine to ship out.
Yours will be finished and going out this weekend.
You may have gotten a longer ccfl tube than usual. I cut them all myself to length, and sometimes I just use different ones I have around. I typically fill them when testing with a funnel with a small tip and angle it. I can usually fill a reservoir in like 15 seconds.
As for the bubbles, there is really nothing you can do about this. Unfortunately the spirals attract bubbles, and an aeration tube is out of the question. Maybe a spiral aeration tube is in store for the future though.
Expect 4 weeks. Blue cast acrylic is on back order from the plastics supplier. I only have enough blue to finish up orders prior to that.
Yours will be going out this weekend as well. I have taken the initiative to use some savings to really stock up on materials. As to cut wait times down for the future.
Update
I wanted everyone to know I am still doing reservoirs for people. I only had posted on OCN that was taking a break from orders to get caught up.
I am in the process of turning my basement into a workshop. I am getting all new tools and machines, stocking up on supplies, new powder coating hardware, etc.
So, more reservoirs will be made, new types of reservoirs will be made. I'm getting a laser cutter in a month or so, to make my own parts and do custom cutting for people here on XS and beyond.
I have powder coating down really well now as well, so I am open to doing small parts...coated waterblock mounts look epic FYI :D
The bubbles on the spirals are working themselves out slowly though. So thats a plus :)
Hey frozenQ! great to hear that you are moving forward so quickly!, how long till i see mine? :D last thing i need in order to be able to start up my computer!
