I read all of them, lol.
So today I had my first real attempt at doing some sort of HDR photo, obviously I need a LOT more practice, but as they say, practice makes perfect.
3 shots, +2, 0, -2, Canon 40D, no tripod, photomatrix used.

Does Photoshop CS3 handle noise better? I find Photomatrix to be... Quite bad in that department, but that could just be a new guys opinion.
Yeah Photomatix increases noise while CS3 usually supresses it. They both combine the images in very different ways.
Photomatix is also very bad at alignment, especially if you have trees/leaves in the image.
Nothing that really compares to you guys, but thought id post them anyway. :yepp:

Read the comments about HDR and using 1 photo where you've adjusted exposures for a pseudo-HDR attempt. Found a situation where it helped get what I wanted, since I had no tripod when I took the shot and also needed to get it posted quickly with minimal PS time.
I don't often use this technique, but thought this one came out okay. (With no tripod available, I didn't try separate exposures, just adjusted +/- 2, then ran through Photomatix).

Not bad shazza, I'm seeing a bit of over-saturation and noise common to Photomatix but other than that, not bad.
