I took the 8800GTX out and put in a Radeon 7000 PCI card. Still got the buzz. It ramped up when I OC'ed (stock is 266FSB) but it was still noticeable at stock. Also, whenever I did something processor intensive, like Orthos, the buzzing went crazy (including launching a 3D app). So I'm pretty sure it's not the 8800GTX.
Plus, I use to have a Striker Extreme with a different 8800GTX -- no buzzing (that I noticed). So if there were, this is completely different and unacceptable.
I have a BeQuiet DarK Power 700W and my commando is doing that noise too.
Noise its only in full load: Orthos, 3dmark...
I have two 80mm fans on the board mosfets by the way :)
And i have watercooling system.... so sound must come from the capacitorS!??!?! maybe?!
Any ideas? Im starting to think i should put my aw9d-max again...
What about the new bios? Anyone would mind to share it?

Background
When new process-generation CPUs are plugged into previous-generation motherboards, the optimal GTLRef level of the MCH with the new CPU may not match the level hard-wired into the motherboard. This problem is conventionally solved by asking motherboard suppliers to change the option for the resistors on the motherboard that sets the GTLRef level for the MCH. As a result, motherboard suppliers must requalify their motherboards.
Conventional motherboards set the GTLRef voltage for the CPU and MCH by placing resistor dividers on the motherboard to generate the appropriate voltage. Because future CPUs are required to plug into existing platforms, and the GTLRef level set in the past for previous CPUs may not be optimal for future platforms, a method is required that adjusts the GTLRef level of existing devices mounted on existing platforms already in the market to tune them to accept the latest CPUs

It should be the Mobo as i'm using the same PSU and 8800GTX on a D975XBX2KR and it doesn't make any buzzy, the DFI RD600 doesn't do it also.
If it's the PSU then it's the commando mobo what makes the PSU buzz, but it's not a PSU problem itself as It doesn't buzz in other mobos. However I think it's the mobo what makes the weird and anoying sounds.

I'm with Dani on this one, I hear no buzzes or anything from the Commando under normal use, but this 7800 512 has always squealed under load.

I also noticed the buzzing. It happens when dual priming on my CPU, so it appears at full load. I think it's the capacitors on the board. I am quite sure it is not my PSU, because the only thing I swapped was my motherboard (P5B DLX for Commando) and testing is done at the same speed.
Many of the components on the Commando mainboard get quite hot. I think it's a shame that the power circuitry is not entirely covered by a heatsink. That would have given the board more stability when stress testing. But memory overclocking seems to be better than P5B boards...

The passive on-board heatsinks supplied are attached with push-pins, so there are suitable fixing points - I wonder if these are becoming standard-spaced, on ASUS boards at least? The Koolance comment above suggests that possibility if they feel it's a marketable solution for a waterblock.Quote:

I'll try a different PSU on my Commando when I get home today (SeaSonic S12 600W) though I doubt it will make a difference - but will be interesting if it does! (Then again, those PSUs are different generations and their internal workings are different so who knows)
