well, I can`t get any clearer, just read what the guy did ... I did it a little different, I set the timings from memset in the bios manually :cool:Quote:

No matter how many volts I add it's very unstable at 400FSB and I don't want to risk more than 1.5Vcore for an extra 200MHz. A lot of people are blaming the OCZ ELP Rev. 1 ram but my ram is fine at lower FSB speeds @3:2. I think it may be bios/ram timing issues but where to start? I tried using spd timings (5-6-6-17) and it's still unstable at 400FSB.Quote:

UPDATE: Problem solved! :D I thought that since the system was stable with small FFT/Blend/Gromacs that the large FFT instability problem was ram/MCH/FSB related. Changing from 400fsb to 401fsb altered my ram sub-timings, which seemed to help. Changing ram timings from 4-4-4-12 to 4-5-4-15 seemed to help. Increasing Vcore to 1.45V did the trick.
To all.
Do you know, how this board working with Power Supply FSP BlueStorm 500W (if you know this PS). I've just heard about conflicts this board with that PS.
Can you lower multiplier for E6600 / E6700 Retail on 965p-DS3 in the bios?
There's a CAM feature (says the manual), but does it allow you to select the multiplier?
Konichiwa Btiches!
Long time AMD man coming over to the darkside....
Sounds like the DS3 is the lesser of common evils for a E6300 or E6400. I am going to order one up tonight and will post results soon.
At this time, I cant justify the price gouge on the 6600 even though when I first started scouting conroe a couple of months ago I figured that would be the one I would buy. 4mb L2 is oh so delicious.Quote:

:shoot:
I plan on watercooling the northbridge (as well as the cpu). I have seen a few DS3s hit 500+ so might as well aim high... I am not holding my breath on this however.

This ram: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820227124
Boot with stock dell cheapo ram and set +.2v for 2.0v. Put in my two sticks and it just keeps resetting itself. Sometimes it will act like it's booting but nothing will go to monitor. Tried with just one stick in the slot, same thing. Tried with the other stick, same thing.
I really need help, replies are very much appreciated!
Try the official F4 bios and be patient while it does it's self-test reboots. Maybe try +.3V for 2.1Vdimm which is still within warranty.Quote:

I thought stock vdimm on the DS3 F4 was 1.8v..
I too have done this but, with bios F4 even when changing Read to Precharge, if i set it to 6 memset will claim its 8 or 9, also RCT is auto at 27 but when 38 is set memset also shows a discrepency. This bios still needs alot of work imo.Quote:

This is the least well known issue today. I guess... replace ram and see if it helps o/c’ing... If so... just buy new sticks ;/ Sorry
I've found I can overclock in windows with EasyTune up to 350MHz (atm trying to find a way to lock the PCI-e to get more)
So if anyone eles has the mem as the problem, clock from windows
I had that RAM and i tired everything from different bios to bios settings. I never got it to work I would exchange them rather than waste your time. If you RMA to OCZ they will just give you the same thing.Quote:

Doesn't setting PCIe for 100 lock it? It seems to work on my DS3 with F4.Quote:

My Conroe E6600 is on its way, and I am considering getting this board.
Will OCZ Gold 1GB (2 x 512MB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Unbuffered Dual Channel Kit System Memory Model work well with this mobo? (Ram requires 2.0V)
NJDevilsFan21: I'd be scared... that stuff hates my board.
So I bought some semi cheap 667 twinx corsair stuff today... here is my initial tests to this point... (Stock volts on cpu/motherboard, ram changed to 5-5-5-15 @ 2v) Passed half of superpi 32m, and i stopped because i want to test more.

Can you or someone recommend ram to get for this board then? [DDR2 800 if possible] (I haven't purchased any yet, but that one seemed cheap, so that's what I was asking).
I'm having the same problem, well if $ is an issue for you too. This twinx is doing better than I thought, but I'd love to have Corsair 800 that is on newegg right now for $200 AR. I just can't afford it really after tax/shipping :(Quote:

I bought this ram and it comes tuesday. I'm buying this DS3 board. I'm wondering if this ram is working perfectly for anyone esle? I ran into a few people on the forum and asked them questions and it seemed its working fine for them. Does anytihng have problems with the plat or just gold versions?
$190-$50=$140 AR
I also bought this PSU http://shop1.outpost.com/product/495...H:MAIN_RSLT_PG. $54.99-$50= $5. It got pretty good reviews but I read on the forum this board has problems with some psu? Should this work ok with this board?
I know, it sucks to live in a state they tax :( (I ordered a few things from TigerDirect for my pc to avoid taxing so I could save a few bucks)Quote:
