How much did you gain in average FPS? I didnt gain much at all in the CS:S stress test @ 1280 x 1024 (shouldn't be THAT gfx limited) which surprised me. Which is why I turned to graphics card OCing, VF900 on its way :)
oh, I didn't really monitor it but at 4xAA/16xAF with my X2 whenever I got flashed, I would drop to about 30-40fps but with the conroe it keeps nice and steady at my monitor's refresh rate (60hz atm).Quote:

Yeh it was playable but when you want to play competatively you don't want any drops in FPS so I generally just ran 2x/8x with the X2.Quote:

buy a asus p5b non deluxe http://gathering.tweakers.net/global.../worshippy.gif , its cheap
His chip is a stepping 5 ES... you REALLY are pushing your "its not the chip it's the board" belief aren't you?
yup !! me is http://gathering.tweakers.net/global/smileys/rc5.gif . I didn`t know he had a ES. damn :p:
for all you non believers that say retail E6600 is bad for high fsb, 2 x retail conroe non ES, doing like 480 mhz fsb with multiplyer 7 and 9 :)

and

first one = AIR
last one is phase change with vcore/vMCH mod
nice on this : http://www.vr-zone.com/?i=3904&s=1
overvolting the conroe :)
Looking back now do you guys wish you went with another board? Still deciding on which board to go with my E6600.
This shows us nothing we didn't already know.Quote:

He's still hitting the same MHz WALL.
I must say though the last one IS impressive. Just not my thing right now.
Yes yes and yes....when MB companies bring out a board that is supposed to be top of line and dont back up the user base with updates then yes i would say its bad practise.Quote:

I think there are to many IT MB companies out their Fooking us over with marketing sheite....(and yes we all fall for it). Its time for a MB company to really get onboard (excuse the pun) with the user base and make a board that is stable and has the support.
I mean we do put food on thier tables every night dont we.
If i was to bet on MB company that was going to produce a rock solid range of Motherboards over the next 6 to 12 months, it would have to be ABIT.
Dont ask me why, i just have this sneaky feeling that they are going to be back and take the MB market by storm.
;)
Actually, theoretically, a higher FSB lower multi would yield increased bandwidth since the FSB is the path of the CPU's communication of the system. Your better Superpi must be the result of some other substantial hardware difference.Quote:

M.Beier, it`s not mine,
Anybody else have any week 26 E6600's? A guy on here's doin' 3.4GHz at stock voltage on air! Mine's a week 23. From what I've read so far...
Week 23 < Week 24 < Week 25 < Week 26
...if this continues, mine's goin up on eBay and I'm getting a week 27 or whatever comes out. :)
That's what I get for buying mine so early and paying a premium for it, hehe.
I have no idea which week mine was made, I actually didnt even bother lookin' - didnt consider it being important like on A64.
Pjoeloe, ohh, oki, well, thats a quite neat speed ;)
What's your VCore @ 3.6GHz? NO way to let us know your week #? Pleez? Aren't YOU curious enough to rip it out real quick? :)Quote:

Not a super-chip, just getting squezzed, cause the juice is worth the squize in my oppinion :)
I've got a week 26 that's terrible (IMO). 3.2 GHz @ 1.40 vCore so far. 3360 @ 1.45/1.475 is stable if I cool it very very well. I've got a lapped Big Typhoon... this is hurting :slapass:Quote:

So yeah, my chip straight up takes .075 more VCore than yours. That's fairly significant. :(
