I hope Topower receives a better ranking here than tier 5 when the list is updated.

From the "real" reviews out there, a Corsair 850HX would be a Tier 1, whatever a Tier 1 qualifier would be. The problem with the OCZ lines is that they are a mishmash of OEM's, even within the same name line, and you cannot relate the performance of one unit to another, even if they have the same name and just differ in wattage.
For example, the StealthXStream 400W, for example, is built by CWT while the StealthXStream 500W and 600W are built by FSP....but the FSP units have worse ripple/noise than the CWT build.
The OCZ Fata1ity 700W, a unit built by Impervio, was going to originally be released as an EliteXStream, but that line was suddenly EOL'd for no apparent reason...at least none mentioned by OCZ. But it's a great performer.
And for another, the ModXStream Pro 700W is a Sirtec built unit. This one just doesn't like heat at all and uses less-than-stellar caps inside it, and has a rather low +12V output for its overall capacity (552W out of its rated 700W----much lower percentage of its capacity avail. in +12V {~78%} as compared to other units of similar output, like the Antec TruePower 750W with 744W of its total capacity avail. on its +12V rails.)
Now that's a mishmash of OEM's! Always wondered how OCZ managed to keep up with who makes what. ;)
Guys, what does everyone think of the Thermaltake Toughpower 1200w?
I need a powerfull psu, the 850w OCZ I have cant cope under load and keeps cutting out...any other recommendations?

I planning on getting the OCZ Z Series 650w. Is this list going to get an update? I'd just like to know where it stands.
ocz shouldn't even be on the list...
their rams are top notch but psu wise you're better off with
antec signature series or
seasonic x-series or
corsair hx series
What?!?! I thought OCZ was good. I've been away from the computer world for 1.5years. I use to recommend their PSU's all the time and still do. I switched from Antec to OCZ and EnermaxQuote:

Perkam, how does the XFX Pro 650W PSU figure in your admittedly old list?
It has a single 12v rail of 53A.
I would be interested since it looks pretty good.
