FW 85.96_mod for SLi on any chipset

Razzz

I´ve tried 84.56 and 85.96 and I cant get it work. One of the graphiccards says it cant start.

I use the pcb asus bridge.

Anyone who have had the same problem?

System:
6800Ultra x 2
X6800
Asus P5W DH
Corsair 8500 Cl5
Antec 550w

Ok. I had SLI working before, but now I dont know how to fix it.
What should I change to get it work then?

Edit:

I now tried to re-install win xp, without any othe device than system disk and my dvd player. I stil can´t get it work

What do you see in the "control panel" > "system"?
You should have both cards working... not dependent on that is SLi enable or not. Something like this:

I did try that but it didn´t work.
My second cards bios was currup, every 30 time i started the computer, strange... I fixed it with a new bios and now it works great.

3Dmark 03/05/06 can work ,but some games have a problem about Doom3 and Quake 4 ( screen is black ) . Far Cry 1.3 can play and run benchmark

Could you give some suggestions or advice for me??
In fact, some people have the same problem like this.
I was wondering... is this kind of problem really exist?
Or is the problem only on my side??
If you could do me this favor, I think this is a perfect driver!!

Does the news that SLI has teamed up with Intel to allow SLI on 975x motherboards mean that we will see SLI for Intel in future official driver releases?

Also, where can I purchase an SLI bridge online?
I've looked around but can't seem to find any retailers offering third party SLI bridges. Also, which is the best of these?

Maybe we'll see something soon...who knows.

As for SLi bridges, you can get one at the ASUS store, or go to ebay and look up ASUS SLI Flex Bridge..

Yes, I know about this problem, but I don't know the reason yet.
Now I don't have time for detailed tests. :(
Also I think that this problem of PCI-E 16x+4x, and most likely it's not present on 8x+8x, but I didn't check yet. :(

Big_Sam, can`t you make some kind of guide about how we can mod the drivers to work with Intel chipset? Or is this to difficult to do? Well iam asking this because wel like you said that you dont have time. So it could be maybe easy if we do i ourselfs if possible?

It is far more complicated than just editing a few files.
It needs months of trial and error.

if( SLI_chipset )
enable_stuff();
else
go_buy_sli();

I dont think video drivers have to implement chipset-specific activities on low level..

Am I right ? ;)

Big_Sam, thanks for all your work here man, much appreciated. You're a better man then I for dealing with everyone's questions. I'm yet to have tried your drivers, just wanted to thank you for the notion...

Now, I have read the entire thread, and did not see anything pertaining to this:

Has anyone tried these drivers using a woodcrest xeon system? They use the 5000x chipset, which is basically the dual cpu version of the 9xx chipset, and they have 16x and 4x PCI-E graphic card slots.... You think theres any chance of the current modded drivers working, or would they have to be rewritten?

SLi will work on any drivers published in this thread.
Only It is necessary not overlook to apply new INF files to such cards as 7900GS, 7950GT etc.

do you really mean by this, that nVidia drivers for GPU somehow injects into the chipset driver code? i.e. provides some low-level functionality for it ? or they have separate code pieces to use chipset I/O directly w/out calling system ?

ps. I did some hacks before, last time it was for.. ummm.. SLI @ Voodoo2 and different cards :D
