looks like monarch got the very first batch of 4000's since it's still under 100. come on guys let's see the OC. I am expecting 3GHZ on stock voltage stock cooling =D
muhahaha much <3 to all my ATLiens out there! :toast: I picked my 3000+ up from monarch on friday around 3:30 and let me tell you on friday in Atlanta it's rush hour from the time the sun comes up till the time it goes down. :slap: Anyways it was worth the trip and time I'm having a blast playing with this chip! :banana:
I got the 3700+ in my hands now.
Problem is fedex lost my heatsink and I won't know until tomorrow where it is :-( sigh.
Go grab a cheap one from CrapUSA :)
For some reason, My:
3700 SD (Monarch)
PC-V2000 (Newegg)
DDen Delrin GPU Cooler (same Newegg order)
ALL ignored my FEDEX waiver. :brick: :bsod:
I hate Mondays....
In case anyone is curious, the codes on my OEM Venice 3200+ I got from Monarch today are LBBLE 0516EPGW. Can't wait to get this baby home where we can be alone together. :slobber:
Can't wait either to see your results. That is unless you're on some sort of a closed loop cooling system.
Yea my codes on the 3700+ San Diego are as follows:
ADA3700DAA5BN
CABGE 0515VPMW
1239326D50230
i have the same stepping CABGE lol my serial is in the 400 range though. what is your number on the distribution count? I was the 9th customer that they ship the SD.
forget newegg and their ripoffs, try monarch! Guys, when your cpu comes in, update your sig so we can see what goodness venice did for you ;)
ok, primary result. 2800mhz with about 1.41 volt reading from speedfan. 38load on water. this is semistable. meaning i think it's stable but not 100% sure. right now i am at 2900 1.55v testing superpi 32M. half way so far.
Cool, I got my SD 4000+ from Monarch today and Joe threw in a free tshirt :D
Nope, I'm on nice, boring high end air. I will post my results tonight in the Venice Overclocking Thread (sticky). :fact:Quote:

Edit, my distribution number is 29 ... thats kinda neat hehe.
Monarch 3700+ San Diego Pre-Order count:
OEM = 73 Orders placed
Retail = 35 Orders placed
I called today and got the above numbers for ppl that had pre-ordered. I eagerly asked about WHEN they were going to have more to send out and the reply was almost read from the website "we are expecting more 5-19. We could get more in before then but not sure on that".
Anyways I Pre-Ordered the retail and should have done the OEM, too late to switch now as it looks to be a long wait either way.
WILL I EVER GET A 3700+ SAN DIEGO?????? :confused: :confused: :confused:

OMG my Venice came 2 days early!
ADA3000DAA4BP
LBBLE 0516CPBW
Z637444D51050
Is this a Venice or some winchester? I have no clue what LBBLE stepping is good or not. I can see it was made in week 16 this year, this makes my Venice about a month old! Very new! The last 4 numbers 1050 means positition of the silcon? Thats pretty far from the center! I dont know how high it goes but someone has a 1200! I am a bit busy tonight so itll have to wait till tomorrow before I try out this Venice. I am going to sell my winny only if my mobo properly works with the Venice and if the Venice can get equal or better 3dmarks than my winny and it must have a good ondie too. I dont even know if this cpus a Venice but I am assuming so.......
wow $315 for a 3500+ :( should have bought one when they were at 272 :P

I pre-ordered mine late night on the 28th, and today e-mailed Joe to ask if he knew what batch shipment mine would be in. His reply:
Unforunately he didn't say when the next shipment would arrive, and the website says May 19th... I suppose it's better than him replying "Merry christmas" though.Quote:
You should be right in line to receive one once our next shipment arrives.

Well, I'm running out of ideas. I plugged my new 3200+ Venice into my Epox 9NDA3 and it won't boot. I am running the 05-04-01 bios which is supposed to support Rev. E CPU. I have cleared the cmos, no joy. I have reseated the chip 3 times, same thing each time. The LED flashes FF, the fans spin a couple of turns, and the board goes dead. I put my 3200+ Winny back in and it boots up fine. :eek:
Anybody have any ideas before I drive this thing back to Monarch tomorrow? :shrug:
It was a myth that lower production number can OC'ed better, couple months ago I bought two identical winnie with same steppings from a local store, one was 0023 and the other was 0654, the 23th only managed to run 2.52Ghz prime stable, while the 654th was 2.69Ghz prime stable and require less vcore, so your mileage may vary.Quote:

Monarch is still cheaper to order from...only $199 :D :D
I wouldn't get the 3200+. You pay $50 for just a 10x multiplier which can be emulated by a 9/10 divider
ex:
250x9=2250
250x10=2500
(250x10/9)x9=2500
you can use the $50 for something else
:( Thanks for the suggestion. I tried the last 2 bios releases, no joy. I am getting really good at attaching and removing my XP-120 heatsink - I think I could do it by feel alone now! :rolleyes: I guess I'll take the chip back to Monarch tomorrow and get them to test it. That's the only good thing about this - this is the 1st CPU I have bought at a retail store in years - this would REALLY suck if I had to wait while it shipped back.Quote:

Woohoo got the shipping notice from Monarch. 3200+ Venice come to Pappa. :D
Oh I agree, it definately could be my motherboard, it's 50/50 as far as I'm concerned. That's why I'm going to take it back to the Monarch retail store - I'm sure they can test the CPU in a known good motherboard before giving me another one. Monarch is about 30 miles from my office, so I'll take it back tomorrow at lunch. I've been looking for reports of other users problems (if any) with the Epox 9NDA3+, haven't found any so far. Of course it's early days yet for the Rev E core. Nothing like life on the bleeding edge. ;) My winny does 2.6 at stock voltage so I have a good fall back; I was bored and wanted something new to try. Thanks for your help.Quote:

I reflashed back to the latest bios - it is working now. It's a good thing I have TCCD memory on the short BrainPower PCB - it just fits under my XP-120 heatsink. :D
Got my vinni in but have not played much yet. I started with some BH5 corsair 3200 and it has topped out at 250 t1 8,2,2,2 stable at 2750MHz on just 1.4 vcore. I have not tried more memory voltage yet and I also have some pc4000 memory I will try But so far things look very good. :clap:

3200+ Venice now listed at Newegg (I don't think this has been posted here yet), just noticed it myself. Limit 2, but they seem to be in stock.
Got my 3700 SD from Monarch last night.. After a few BSOD's from bad drivers, the OS is installed and running. I'm running the 3-10 bios on my Lan Party SLI-D. So far it's been perfectly stable, and I'm running Corsair Value Ram CAS2.5. I'm currently running the ram at 210. It looks like the mem controller isn't to picky on the SD...
Just ordered a 3700+ SD in the UK at Overclockers which has them in stock. ;) Guess my VX ram is going to hold me back as i can only run them @ 265 2-2-2-5 so will need to use the dividers.
You sure about that? 11*265 still gives 2915Mhz which is pretty good going even for water cooled.Quote:

I just got my venice today. I read some were about cpu burn in or something like that. What exacly is it? I new its only for new cpus? Does it help them last longer?
Mostly it's hearsay...Quote:

In general burning in is where the CPU supposedly does not overclock very well at first, but then over time people can overclock higher and higher.
Due to changing room temperatures? Due to the electrons "burning in" the paths in the CPU? Something else? You decide..
I'd say don't worry too much about it.
They overnight upgrade ended when the cpu's arrived people.
Well, it would appear that Newegg now has the OEM 3000+ Venice for $155 + $3.99 shipping
http://www2.newegg.com/Product/Produ...82E16819103536
Isn't it like burning in a new car...
$146 for retail 3000+ Winny and $159 for OEM Venice...
Give it time.
The same thing happened when the Winnie came out. I mean, Newegg yesterday was charging $311 for the Venice 3500+ and $260 for the Winnie 3500+.
Looks like today that one dropped down to $289, still $18 more than when I first saw it on their site.
Funny thing about Newegg's price fluctuation on the 3500+ is that its sister site Chiefvalue.com has been maintaining a steady $272 price with free shipping. Go figure.
http://www.chiefvalue.com/app/produc...ription=venice
Heh I wonder if NewEgg has a algorithm based on how much stock they have to set the price.

My 3700+ arrived from Monarch yesterday. That bad boy is now priming the hell out of itself at stock for a few hours, if all goes well I'm going to start OCing it!
Damn, if I had waited one more day, I could have gotten the retail 3000+ and saved $10! How is the thermaltake silent boost?
Monarch has a serious deal, I called them to make sure it isn't a mistake.. they said it is real!!!! :banana:
512mb DDR2 49.75 w/ free shipping
I believe they do AND it is also based on the number of stock alerts they get. So if a n item is in high demand and everyone wants the egg to email them when they get stock, well the eg gknows how many people want it and adjust the price accordingly before it even comes in... This is all speculative though...Quote:

compusa will charge you restocking fee 'if' u had open teh packeage and there is nothing wrong with it.Quote:

Yep, most of the time but not always its somewhat random. You have to pay GST or HST depending on which province you live in plus a small customs fee. It is not 15% more for me because I am in Alberta and only pay 7% plus $6-15 for customs. I order stuff from the US quite often and most I have paid was 60 bucks on a 6000GT.Quote:
