EZ Flash here too. I've got a USB Stick prepared with all the Rampage and Maximus bios ready, along with AFUDOS 2.29ES. :D

Faster FSB is a good choice, take a look here:

But it depends on settings, 5FSB more but 200Mhz ram less won`t be faster, you know.

Right now I am testing 3.6GHz and finding I can run at that speed with much less voltage. I have been running OCCT stable for almost 2 hours 1.33750V as set in the BIOS.PHP Code:

0308???? Did I miss something?
Sorry of this posted under wrong thread but i cant seem to locate the info allthough i remember seeing..
I am looking to find info about there the "motherboard temperature sensor" is located.
Any ideas
Thanks
Shame on me:shrug:. I'm going to have to work on the whole paying attention thingy.
I am getting faster!
My system is up to 3.46GHz
Everest is reporting:
CPU Core 1.46v
DIMM 2.00v
DIMM VTT 1.01v
Setting my DRAM voltage in the BIOS to 1.88, gives me 2.0v in Everest. Do you think this might be a bit risky? :)
I did try a 390 FSB Frequency, but won't boot into Vista yet.
Any more ideas anybody?

Yep... I jst set Transaction Booster to Auto, Relax Level 0. Booted up fine.
Going to keep that now too. :)
well i have to thank all of you guys... just followed your tips and voilá

just joined the club... no lets it's how this Maxiampage handles some heat :D
PS: and of course special thanks to the author of this madness... :)
With a 3Dmark score like that, all is forgiven :D
Thanks again for the other FTP link, but this is the same one I saw already. Actually these sites DO NOT clearify the latest BETA v/s FINAL. So where do you guys see a site specifying v1004 as ASUS final, and why or what is the difference from the "ASUS" BETA v1004? If the name of ROM is the same how do you tell them apart? I never saw this before, ASUS using the same version #s for each a BETA and a FINAL. Does this mean ASUS official web site will need to update their status? Also, since when is the official BIOS number higher then latest BETA? wich are you guys calling latest BETA then? Just curious!
For starting point stability, disable al performance options , especially booster ad Ai Clock Twister. Also if only testing @ FSB 400 for 1:1 w/ DDR800, try strap and DRAM frequency to AUTO for troubleshooting. I found on many BIOS versions, that it works fine, yet mobo is picky with manual of those 2 settings.
How were you abale to flash back from BETA v0907 to BETA v0903 in EZ-Flash. I had to use Windows Live Upodate since my BIOS was baddly corrupted. I heard that a BETA BIOS was supposed to let you EZ-Flash (CMOS version) but I never got it to work, even BETA to revert to last final.
Did you or were you able to boot and load and re POST as is at stock w/o any of the earlier mentioned POST hangs that were common after 907?
Did you input exact values as from before? Or is this new testing? Try the settings I just described above for stability testing. If you cant get stability on 1:1 forget about any divider. You oviously need more tweaking then.
TouGe,
Thanks so much for posting those settings. I appreciate that.
What you have there makes sense to me. I've also found that I can get stable at 3.6GHz with much less voltage than 3.8GHz. What pushes me to 3.8GHz is the fact that I went and blew all this money on the extreme chip with unlocked multiplier. If I don't run it at 9X or something like that, I might as well have the Q9450 with the 8X.
Your actual CPU voltage settings are pretty close to mine. I'm also getting significant vdroop between BIOS and Everest. I just set it at 1.4000 in BIOS because I was getting tired of prime95 errors at the 2 hour mark at about 1.38xxx. I'm sure I could ease it up a little from 1.40000 and still be stable.
I've seen someone here saying that they could get stable at lower voltages with the Rampage BIOS. That might be part of it.
since im at work :( , and this new bios is news to me
any better gtl adjustments? my quad loves the gtl... it seems i need a .72 value or so though
My same reason exactly. I like the 8x just fine for the FSB options. I refuse to blow that kind of money on an extreme CPU when I can usually get the same feel on half the cost.
As for that RAMPAGE hack, is it confirmed yet if it does indeed void warenty? I mean does it leave traces ASUS can tel if able to get out of it to a final BIOS?
0308 is more stable for me with prime anyway , at higher overclock , 425 x 9 is good so will try a bit higher
