i just tried to flash back to 0602 using the ez flash tool in the bios. after verifying the file, it gave me a message saying that the file is an older version than on the board and didnt let me flash it. how can i go back to 0602?

I used up to 2.2v with different dividers, stripes, timings and other mem/nb related settings and this damn mb refuses to boot...
I'm going to return it to the store i bought it. RMA is immediate (good customers have their benefits... ;) ) so it's no prob. The only inconvenience is the lack of time and the dual loop redo...
where is the bios step back option? i installed asus update and i tried to flash back to 602 but it didnt let me and i didnt see any bios step back option.
edit: never mind, i didnt realize there was an "options" selection. also, is it safe to flash the bios from within windows using asus update?
In the drop down box select options> click next> check the downgrade box
actually which temp for cpu is actually correct? i get low temp at 0602 bios and high temp at 0903...can someone pls confirm this? i get additional of 20c for bios 0903
ok i tried to flash the bios using asus updater 71103 and no matter what rom file i give it it says "Warning! The BIOS image can't use in this motherboard. (The EEPROM Type incompatible)".
however when i use the same file in ez flash, it just tells me i cant downgrade and doesnt say anything about eeprom incompatibility.
The problem is the version of AsusUpdate, please read the thread properly or use the "Part 2" thread which contains ALL the information you need.

I have done it once to revert from 901 to 802 and all was fine, I did flash from file and set everything to stock speeds b4 the flash.
I find all bios's have temp issues above 504, have yet to try 903 some ppl have good luck with it and some are complaining.
I am choosing to wait and let others be Asus's test rats for I do not want to re do my loop again
remove Asus Update
install this one

it will work
Yeah.. this temperature thing is sure strange... I must say though, that I got ok temps from Coretemp using 903
I was running my Q6600 at 3996 Mhz and getting 45 degrees at idle and as high as 69 at moderate load... but when I tried to do a stress test, it gave me the good old BSOD, so I'm backing off the FSB from 444 (with x9) to 400, which is stable and tested...
Still have to do some temp checks at stock and I'll let you know in a while...going out now.
hmm. so your temps arent static in 903? and were you seeing static temps in prev versions?
I think I'm going somewhere with this chip/ram combination. This board is gonna be legendary before asus is done with it....
for those wanting to downgrade your bios will you please search the thread. it's been posted over and over and over again.
Some ppl you just cant reach, so you get what we had here last week
Wich is the way he wants it, ....well he gets it
I dont like it anymore than you do
lol
my temps are fine from what I could tell on 903 , hopefully it's reading them fine. Everest and coretemp seem to know whats going on .
