As i wrote before, my computer passed 12 hours of Blend with CPU FSB 1.2V, nForce SPP 1.4V and Memory with 1.9V. CPU was at 1.232V (under load) at 3.6 GHz. After that I've put CPU to 3.825 GHz with same FSB speed, only put higher multi. It passed SmallFTT 12 hours with 1.304V /load), but failed Blend. It means I need higher vCore, right? But I don't understand why (if higher vCore is the case) since CPU passed 12 hour's of SmallFTT.
Does anyone know where to put red line of multimeter on my motherboard to measure vCore? I've got EVGA 750i FTW. Asked on EVGA forum but nobody answered me...
Guys,
Who has ordered Wolfdale from the Egg within the last couple of days?
What was your batch/FPO?
Did you get E0?
This is helpful hunting info.
TX dude. They must be clearing old stock still. Good luck finding better one.
great british pounds!!!! And does that cool just your CPU or your whole system? Seems like quite a good investment if it cools CPU, GPU, NB etc.
It will be awhile before we see E8400 and E8500's with E0 steppings. Probably 1-2 months I'd say before you can get one gurrentied. Best bet would be going to someone that lets you pre-order said CPU's with the stepping.
OMG, i od'ed my e8400 today at 4410MHZ Vcore 1.44BIOS, i think it's stable, but after 19seconds i got @ 90degres :ROTF:...need water cooling...damn i have a hot batch, or at those speeds and Vcore all the batch' got 90 degres? :ROTF:
Check this, 1.23 for 4GHZ...i think you might update the list :D
One great Wolfie you got there! Gratz. ;)
^^^^ nice. 4ghz for me is 1.256 so im close lol.. i can pass orthos at 4.3 now with 1.348 temps are about 75c though. my vendetta 2 came in today damaged (they sent me open box crap i called and screamed and a new one is coming all the fins were bent parts missing ripped box etc sucks) so hopefully when i get that ill be better or i know i said i wouldnt but maybe water will be next lol i still have most of my stuff from my 478 setup so i would just need new blocks.. rad, pump and res, are still fine
Thanks both of u, without LagunaX and the pencil mode i will run today at 1.3idle and 1.37 bios ...but the pencil mode do the trick...i run now 1.23 idle/1.23load/....the problem is now that i need a better cooling...u think the vendeta 2 is much better than my ZALMAN 9700 ?...

SmallFTT loads the cpu, while Blend loads the ram and cpu, I believe. So if you're failing Blend, you should try upping the vDimm, especially if you are running 4-4-4 timings overclocked. I use 2.0v @ 1190 MHz with my Ballistix, but with 5-5-5 timings.Quote:

i have another 8500 coming from newegg, first one was a dud for me as well. should have it up and overclocked this weekend.
As per rig in my sig, what should hte FSB strap be set at when overclocking? I have left it at auto so far.
Tried this morning LagunaX pencil mod.:D Shame I still can't find the right settings for 4000 but I'm happy with this OC for the moment. :) Before pencil mod my cpu could do 3600 at 1.25(bios)-1.2(cpu-z). Now 1.75(bios)-1.6(cpu-z), still some drop. Should I put more graphit? And it is mandatory to put nail "thingy" or it will do the job without it?
my max wolfie bench e8400 on air..batch Q818A283

on daily this clocking @500 x8.5, 1.38v
4.775 !! dam thats good ! at what voltage was that ??
RealTemp 2.70 is available for download. It looks like Ovidiu's post above.
It's more efficient than the last version and has a few more features like proper core reporting based on APIC ID for the Quad processors, the reporting of both Minimum and Maximum VID as well as a high temperature alarm feature and the ability to save the log file in .csv format so it can be directly imported into Excel for analysis.
Here's a 9 hour run of RealTemp and it's competition with both minimized to the SystemTray. The CPU Usage Time speaks for itself.

If you double left click on RealTemp you'll get a nice small window with just the basics. Perfect addition to a screen shot.

Back on topic. Here's the Intel sSpec numbers you should be looking for if you are trying to get a new E0 stepping CPU. This number is on the outside of the box if you have your hands on one or can find a retailer willing to have a look.
