haha, it can't be a dud, we already know it does 2600 at stock, that alone is enough to get someone to pay $500 for it
What if the buyer emails you, saying thanks for 2900MHz 1.35v CPU! test it!

I'll say you're welcome for $575 ;)
I'll trade you for the CCBBE you got there repo if you want to try it ;)
lol :p:
You're right though, that was a good investment. $440 for a 0550, probably get $500-$550 for it
Hmm, maybe I should take the trade
Yea, I want to pick up one of those Gem 165's instead of a blazing priced 170, better use of cash... since Im lookin at an Ipod video ;)
Yeah, I think I'm done testing until my X1900XT comes on Monday unfortunately :( I've been running an 8MB RageXL with no drivers (probably 16-bit  They won't install). I've been getting BSOD's like crazy, and I think it's because of the video.. cards on it's way out I think. IIRC it did this last time I used it too a few months ago.
It gets about 2fps in 2D windows mode, I get to watch every shade of blue on the windows logon for about 2 seconds.. every time I open firefox or change pages I get to watch the card render for ~3 seconds.
I still think that's what the first BSOD at 2.8 first boot was about. Still had nvidia drivers installed :p:
edit: how ironic, BSOD after I posted that. leaving it alone now, see if it blue screens without any stress on the card
edit2: yeah, card's toast  left it alone for an hour and it was fine. Reboot and BSOD upon all the stress of rendering the desktop
Ordered a 170 yesterday, just hoping I have better luck than I had with my crappy 3700+. This is my first dualcore ever, so I would like some advice :)
Where did you order it from and did you order OEM or Retail.Quote:

Core0 seems to be weaker but I am going to try to burn that in.
Just pop the sucker in and fire up 270x10.0 at stock volts and see what she does. For me that was the best place for me when I started. I didn't even have to work much for it. First try was Stable.
Ordered a Retail version from komplett.no (norwegian store)
The 170's there are supposed to be new ones, so I hope I get one of the new good steppings.

This is the limit of the motherboard. Prime is OK, but I get freezes every once in a while if I'm web browsing or doing simple stuff like that. But :woot: for newegg, ordered my new ultra-d last night and it's already shipped.. hopefully be here tomorrow!
Bah, just ordered a 165 from monarch, only $280 w/2nd day air. Hope its a gem :(
If I get a 3rd 0551 from them Ill be officially pissed
Good luck! I got another coming tomorrow that shipped out last thursday, I'll let you know what it is
Thanks m8!
I always seem to order on the wrong day :S
With my luck even if I got a CCBBE/CCB1E itd be a dud :(
Ah well, if I dont succeed Ill try AGAIN :)
I Hope you get an 0550VPME or 0608 or 0610 Stepping from the best one.
In germany are now onyl 0551VPMW or UPMW avaible.
Nothing Special. Other Steppings are unknown by the 165 or 170s.
Why did AMD make some freakin many 0551s????!! They seem to be all over. Theyve been coming out of etailers in masses for MONTHS!
There is something about luck of the draw that is so exciting. I cant wait to see what I get :p:

The CCB1E, it's about 50MHz better
And I think it may match Absolute0's godlike 170 0550VPMW.. iirc his did 3GHz@1.39v (1.425 in BIOS?). I left this one priming at that, haven't checked on it in a while.. I'll check now
