I currently have E6700 but i would like to buy E6850 :)

Well, if it is that easy, why are the people who have the newer procs having issues with em posting????
Check the below link. Theres some ayarton guy who has e6750 on xbx2. I dont whether he's true. Then we have a ray of hope. His rig is mentioned in other thoughts section.

Hi,
Im following this thread through from the beginning and some of the details make sense to me, yet others don't... I'm still a bit wet behind the ears.
I've bought this mobo and am in the process of fitting it out, with the last item, (I see a lot of new buyers leave this bit to last as it does seem to be the most confusing) RAM.
Specs;
XBX2 mobo
X6800 chip
4x WD raptors RAID0
Crossfire 2900XT (1024GB GDDR4 RAM each) will be running @ stock
X-Fi Fatal1y
XPSP2 Home 32bit
2048 ?RAM?
(dang flightsims are an expensive hobby :) )
Here's what I wanna do...
basically I just want to run the system at a small (timid) overclock at say 3.2GHz with a X6800 chip, running the system as fast as.. My mobo is Rev 505 XBX2 and the RAM/ CPU multiplier side of things sorta does my head in. (being new, I'm sure this happens and everything sorts itself out inside after a while)
Where I would go with RAM is either Corsair 6400C3D or 8500C5D. I figure with the lower latency C3D, If needed, I could run at spec and tight and with the 8500C5D I could run it slow and possibly a lower than advertised latency, also I'm not exactly too sure on how the booting at JDEC would be affected by 1066RAM in an 800fsb board, with the settings set manually in BIOS.
Once I've got the system up and running, I'm sure everything will make sense by falling into place but beforehand, I would grumble at myself for buying the less than optimum RAM
I'm moving fom a rev 504 D875PBZ mobo 3.2 478pin Prescott, with some nice Registry mods
What would the best way of setting this XBX2 mobo up be??
For memory, Ballistix 8500 is good.
Dudes i got some great news!!!! :D , just check Intel's cpu's support for Bad Axe2 ( updated July 30 ):
http://www.intel.com/support/motherb...4.htm#core2duo
YES!!!! Finally official 1333 FSB processor support for XBX2!!!, SWEET :D , now bring it on Penryns....Yujuuu...
Good! Intel may have quit its old practice of forcing users to upgrade motherboards whenever new CPUs were released. There's a good chance that Penryn will be supported then!
But... BIOS 2692 or greater?! I thought there were members of these forums who had tried the 1333MHz FSB cores with BIOS 2770 and failed to get the board booting.
One other strange thing, the E6540 is still absent from the list.
omg im so happy!:D some of u know ive been askin lots of questions about this board in the last few weeks because ive been plannin on buildin my new system based on this board. i was just about to order all my parts sometime this week, and for the cpu i was gonna go with the e6600, but now i seen it supports 1333 fsb! so it looks like ill be ordering a e6750:yepp: few posts back i asked about memory for the BX2 and i got 2 votes for the G.SKill, would this set of G.Skill still work good with the e6750?

still waiting the damn 6850 :(
So what are the latest recommended settings for a BadAxe2 rev505 w/2747 bios to get a decent overclock?
e6600 B2
2x1 Gb Corsair 6400c4
2x1 Gb Ballistix 6400c4
Watercooled (in sig)
Edit:
I am looking for..
vcore
fsb
vmch
Thanks.
My XBX2 settings....
Here my BIOS settings:
I need more Vcore to get past 430x9 and Setting strapp 1333 dosent help.
Done the Vcore mod 2 times and both times it did not work :/

This is great news (1333 MHz support) but unfortunately, it doesn't go very far with quads :( Hope a new bios update will fix this...
 EEeeeK! I just found out the price AUD$ of a QX6800  OMG :eek2:
Your tagline says the voltage of the Q6600 is only 1.325V. Are you actually increasing the core, FSB, or MCH voltages? You aren't going to go any higher keeping those stock, even on a G0.
if i order a BX2 and a e6750 in say the next week from newegg, would it boot? or would i have to update the bios first?
Hrmmm I flashed to 2770 and now I get 3 beeps and it never boots. http://www.intel.com/support/motherb.../cs-010249.htm says bad ram. Ram was working fine prior to this. Wasn't OCed at flash. Took my ram out and just put one stick in bank 0, took out the bios battery and let it sit for 5min and plugged it back in. Still 3 beeps. My board toast?
try the bios reset jumper
I got the same issue, I set my bios to default before I flash now
nvm. Looks like its my fault for using EPP ram... It worked before this flash. I swapped ram out with some kingston value I had in another box and it booted up fine. I flashed back to my old version (2634) and the weird thing is it still does the 3 beeps with any of my OCZ sticks in any slot... Board works fine with the KVR stick though. Sorry for the wasted post.
