i see you gave bingo13 recognition
bingo13 is the catalyst for the changes...he works with abit continously.

any reported changes with new bios?
I'll answer my own question... I can finally run my ram @ 1000 w/ 4-4-4-12!!!

yay new bios yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thanks bingo :D
^^ Holy crap, and that's with 4 DIMMS? Nice show!
4 sticks and stable! I'm 30 min into a P95 run as I'm typing this...
beofre this bios, I couldn't boot into windows at this speed no matter how much voltage I ran through my machine!
this rocks
can I say thanks again Bingo?
THANKS AGAIN BINGO!!!
that is VERY neat!
making 3dm06 runs with my memory @ 1025 w/ 4-4-4-12...

ok, sorry... I'll leave the thread alone now. Its just I've loved this board, and the one knock on it was the memory performance. Now that its fixed, I'm just tickled :D :D :D
no...that is what this thread is about...SHOWING YOUR STUFF!;)...and, asking for help.
with the new bios B16.04.
core temps showing my Q6600 core temp as: 32,32,32,32 .
Guru is showing the CPU at 49 @ idle.
Under full load running at 3.6 GHz, CPU temp showing 70 while cores are around 57.
I guess I have to reset my temp EQ again...
edit: going back to B16.03 to see if it's better for my CPU+mobo combo
hi everyone, i'm new to OCing. i have the ip35 pro with a Q6600 (G0) and 2x1GB crucial ballistix. a fresh build with the GeminII cooler shows 60-66C in the bios. i will do nothing else until i get the temp down.
i think the high temp has to do with the way I mounted the GeminII. how tight should i screw the nuts without too much bending of the board? or maybe it was the line of artic silver 5 i used across the chip. thanks for the help everyone, and happy holidays!
Can't wait to test out the new beta BIOS, but finals take precedent. Once I'm home next week I'll have my new wc setup rdy and then I'm going to really try to push this setup hard using outside temps.
The weird beeping .... Does your board continue to boot up. If so, after it finishes booting and load windows, fireup guru to see where the warning is coming from.
If beeping but board does not boot up, what's the diagnostic code show on the mobo?
Also 60-66C in the bios is high. check your cpu heat sink fan install. I normally don't spread AS5 all over the CPU. I just put a pea size drop on the center of cpu surface (you cpu core is in the middle) and put the heat sink on top. The pressure & temp should fill /spread AS5 evenly.
Flashed to b16.04, and the vcore settings in bios is still odd:confused: had to set 1.55 for 1,43 real...but the uguru cpu-temp seems to be ok now.
I'm testing with Everest Stability test and Wprime now according to Ace advise. Will test today for max fsb.
the OS isn't installed. however, it is able to boot up and get into the bios and the "beep" (more like an alarming whistle-beep) keeps going.
according the artic silver website, if you have a quad core (i have the Q6600), a thin line of AS5 should be applied horizontally across the center of the cpu's heatspreader. this is my first time using a 775 board, GeminII, and AS5. i wasn't confident after the cpu/heatsink installation, so i wouldn't be surprised if this was the problem.
so yah, how 'tight' should i screw those nuts behind the mobo to mount the geminII? let me rephrase this.... how many full rotations for each of the 4 nuts should be applied after the screw-head touches the rubber spacer?:
screw head
rubber spacer
mobo
washer
nut
Well, here are my results ON AIR with mirror-surfaced lapped Tuniq Tower & q6600 g0... w/ the bolt-mod on the STOCK heatsinks + 60mm fans on the PWM and northbridge:

*cheers*
Update: Slightly higher o/c after some tweaking...

I did not know about the thin line application of AS5. Thanks for the info.
I think the beep is the temp warning.
Go to bios, uguru menu and see the temp warning setting for the CPU. I think the default is 50C and therefore it beeps because your temp is over that.
I think the best is to re-seat and re-apply the heat sink.
I'm using the different HSF so I don't know the number of rotations. I think as long as the HSF sits firmly and tight enough, you will be OK.
The monitoring program is Everest

has anybody tried watercooling the pwms on this board? Any mosfet blocks that fit?
LAWL Aux 3 @ 7980 rpm....bet that sounds like a :banana::banana::banana::banana:ing jet engine
This is my set up, except I have 4x1GB Ballitix Tracer. It sounds like you mounted your heatsink incorrectly or maybe used way to much thermal compound. I applied a "very" think layer only one the GeminII, I used a piece of plastic from the CPU packaging to smear as thin as possible, but don't scrap it off, I covered 100% of the heatsink before I mounted it and bolted it on.. I found it very easy. The hard part was to wire the mobo before installing it in the case.
So I am overclocking mine at 3.6Ghz and after tweaking my settings my Vcore is now 46 under load (temp taken from Prime 1024 test at 98% complete), my computer is 26C right now and it is about 62F in my room. So, something is definately wrong with your set up. I have posted all my specs in the last few pages... what fan are you using with the heatsink? I have two Yates 1350 and used Artic Cooling MX-2. I also have the second newest bio, just have not had time to install the latest one, definately recommend you get the latest bios.
How tight? I did it pretty damn tight :), that I was a little scared. But I figured worst case senario I will just RMA it. My mobo was slightly (maybe a little bit more then slightly) bent... will not go straight!!!... I tightened each screw slightly then tightened each one again and I repeated the process a few more times untill I could not turn any of the screws any more. I used a good amount of force in the end. (but don't go CRAZY!!).
Yeah, I made it (lots of other stuff too). Look at the pictures here:
Abit IP35 Pro: NB + SB + PWM + CPU and RAM Blocks
Btw, my Q6600 runs like mad:SuperPi 1M
Watercooled only ;)
