Well if two of your 8 disks are the same size, you could set those two on a stripe array and not lose any space.Quote:

as far as using setfsb to go above the bios limited 30% on the IDT chips and having it stick, i have found that if i set the overclock at 29% on either 1066 or 1333 strap, clock to my desired fsb (437 or 450 in my case), start a superpi run and then hit the reset button, the system will boot at the fsb i set w/ setFSB. pretty slick. problem is it looses it sometimes if the machine has been off for a day or 2.
then what?? i press ctrl + s and f4 during that screen, nothing happened...Quote:

glad to see it works for u but i can just turn it off normal and it stays and it has not ever lost wut i set it at. is 450 ur stable fsb and did u hit 453fsb and it crashed and did u have all ur voltages all the way upQuote:

POST screen i think, according to the manual it should have memory test . For me it was all black b4 the "press ctrl + s or f4 to enter SIL 1134 RAID setup utility" screen, then i press f2 at that time to enter BIOS
2. setfsb works for me, but it wouldnt stick ... it just got back to the 30% OC i set in bIOS .
I loaded the optimum defaults and the intel scree shows up but I still see no mem test or drive detection. I really like this mobo but I am so used to abit and asus bios.Quote:

ok this is weird , i loaded optimum defaults in bios n re-overclocked in BIOS, i was able to boot at 400fsb !! with 133fsb strap and 30% burn in with everything to maxed in the chipset override settings include vcore 1.6v ...
well thats good, 1.6 seems kinda high. anyways how is the stability. Also did you do the oc debug or used ITK to add to the bios options for ocing.Quote:

Is it better to just enable some settings through ITK for the bios or doing an oc debug would be better. One advantage adding settings in the bios using ITK is that it wont void the warranty.
I am interested in taking my e6600 to about 3-3.3 roughly where I can stay around stock voltage. Also I want to keep the ratio at 1:1, the gskill can be pushed to around 500mhz.
I have attatched a pic of my desktop with some info about my system.
I still dont know where to check if I have the ICS or IDT chip.
I would appreciate some input on basically what you think would be a good approach for a moderate and very stable overclock, oc debug or ITK.
Chip is left of the Northbridge, above the top graphics slot.Quote:

1333 strap,437x8=3.5ghz, ram at 1:1 w/ 4-4-4-12 = 16.490s
the benefit of 1333 strap is it isn't much slower, and using setFSB, my overclock sticks after a reboot, it will not when using the 1066 strap.
wow what batch # is that E6400?? my L624 week 24 E6400 can only do 3.45GHz max or 434fsb ... and 426fsb or 3.4GHz stable for 24/7 ... im waiting for E6700 , E6600's price to drop (which should happened early next year) and better batch for 3.8 to 4GHz 24/7 stable at least dual pi 32m stable
L626. probably a 3.8+ capable chip, but the badaxe runs out of steam after 453-456 for me. i think a vMCH mod and 1.8-1.9v would get it a bit farther.
my rev 305 dont have the intel screen right after it turned on, it just stays black (however the montior was turned on right after i start the comp) untill the "press ctrl + s or f4 to enter setup" screen
anyone know how to resolve this??
I too am having panel issues with my XBX. Sometimes it wont come on untill Windows has hit the welcome screen.
If it doesn't initalize, I can start the panel by rebooting it, then it works. This is with a Viewsonic VP201s.
Strange....
same issue here I looked around and couldnt find a solution, hopefully soon somebody can come up with something and let us know.Quote:
