theres no deadly issues with the board, just the timeout issues with the uli sata 2 controllers, and the occasional corrupted bios that will make it seem like your hardware is going bad. somebody earlier in the thread mentioned a dos program, i forget what its called, but it helped me out way back then. the corruption is actually so extreme that even a normal clear cmos and even a bios flash dont fix it.
oh well, sounds like nothing for me then.. i just want a board that run OC'd 24/7, without any issues.. but bios corruption are one of the worst!
well, it doesnt corrupt itself, its just that the cmos reloaded feature is glitchy, it causes issues even when you dont save anything to it, as i think its responsible for recovering after your oc fails.
for me, i tried setting an agressive oc (311fsb), even though it was stable before so i dont know what happened, but the bios freaked out, it couldnt boot for a while, then eventually it recovered, but instead of going to stock it went to 302 fsb, and it all went downhill from there, until i used f-tester which is the tool i was talking about earlier, it was unstable even at stock. once you get to know the board, and if you dont have any sata 2 drives, the board is as good as any out there.
Just a fast question.. i bought this board a while ago cus the sapphire wasnt enough realiable on me..
anyway, i finally got my 4GB of ram working together (had to flash different SPD on two of them though).
Anyway, i'm just running XP-32bit, so i thought i may ask.. XP only tells i got 3.25GB ram, but i know that is usual, since 32-bit cant handle more.. but the strange thing is that bios only reports about 3.4xGB ram..
Will i only be able to use 3.4xGB, or is it just the bios that reports wrong amount, and if i install XP-64 or Vista, i will still have all my full 4GB's ?

I had a similar issue on an Asus A8N32 some time ago. There was a BIOS setting dealing with remapping, IIRC, which let the BIOS see the full 4GB.
This DFI board and the Sapphire ROLLE2K has got, has the same crappy RD580 chipset, so no matter what you do, you will always end up with sleepless nights and lots, LOTS of cursing! I am so happy I got rid of mine that you wouldn't KNOW! Sometimes I had to flash the bios 5-6 times just to get it booting without any hazzle, just to come in the room an hour later and find everything FROZEN! Corrupt bios, rotten sata controller, buggy pcie performance... and probably lots more cr*sencor*ap that I don't know what was!
Yea too bad about the CFX3200 I would have loved to own one but shyed awat from it because of all the issues, hell I wouldn't even build them for customers!
You are better off with the Expert Board mine ran oced 24/7 and actually just pulled it out of the case and switched up kina reluctent to get rid of it as its still runs like a Raped Ape on Steroids and Sever Class stable and reliable, arguably the Best Motherboard I have ever owned too date!
Actually I have built 8 D.F.I Expert Systems and never had issue one with them never a complaint either from any customer outside of them telling me they were the shiznit.
If it weren't for all these goddamn issues it woulda been a MONSTERBOARD! And it was, in its own kind of way, it overclocked everything like a bad motherfker and had like a zillion options in bios!! :D

Maybe you guys got DFI CFX3200-DR/G, what I got was DFI LANPARTY UT CFX3200-DR. Don't know if it's the same board or if it's just another revision of the same board.
My board seems fine so far also, haven't noticed any of the bugs you have talked about... but then i don't use the sil3114 controller, and i don't use the bios auto-save if board boots fine feature (which i have understand only makes trouble.)
So i really think this will be a fine board for me.
It is not the silicon image controller that is the main "problem" controller, it's actually the other one, the ULi controller, but the silicon image controller is so sloooow it can mostly be described as a bug in itself. (there was a whole thread somewhere about the ULI "freeze" issue, think it was at now DEAD DFI-STREET)Quote:

I dont know,with mine is everything good...Maybe there is some kind of problem with your mbo,maybe is damaged or what so ever...
The problem is me? Most the people that got the UT version of the mobo either RMA'd it or blew it to pieces with dynamite. You got the DR/G version, maybe they changed something to make it better, I don't know. But the UT-version of CFX3200 for s939 has got some mayor engineering flaws all over the board, so it's not just me my friend. You should've read some other threads about the board, see my sig and understand that there may actually be two very similar named boards, but completely different in stability and issues.Quote:

Favourite in what possible way? I say good riddance, I didn't ever regret I sold my CFX3200 and got a DFI ULTRA-D instead, much more stable and just as overclockable with 3% the issues the CFX3200 has. So I repeat, good riddance! :DQuote:
