u could also try installing BF2 again, im sure u have tried this one already.
anyone know of any AMD drivers or MS Hotfix drivers for Vista Beta 2 that was recently released?...is it even necessary to install them on Vista?
The problem to my knowledge was only with Windows XP. Service Pack 3 is supposed to incorporate the fix...if they will ever release the SP3.Quote:

hi guys , i just got an opteron 170  and installed it and it went to multiprocessor immediatly.I also installed the hotfix do i need to do the registry stuff ?
Yeah, in order for it to be working properly make sure you follow all the instructions on page one.Quote:

Is this because my program drive is 'I' and not 'C'? I installed the Windows update for it, but can't install the package from the AMD website, is there a 'workaround' for this?
Cheers
Chris
how can you tell if you are affected? i just bought an Asus M2N32-SLI Deluxe and in a few days will be getting an X2 3800+ for it. From the windows page it's seems to be a windows issue, so i should be safe to assume there is a definite possibly of me being affected, but how can I tell? just play games for long periods of time and see what happens?

I too have this motherboard, along with a 4600 64X2, 2GB RAM and a Geforce 7950 GPU. The games do stutter after a while, even in Rome Total War! But I can't seem to install the updated driver from the AMD site!Quote:
