Thanks Espinetenbolas. How can I tell if the patch works?.

I installed it on my PC but I still have LOW FPS problems with BF2.

I have:

MOBO: MSI k8 NEO4 SLI
MEMORY: 2GB XMS CORSAIR 3200C2
VC: 7900GT CU SUPERCLOCK EVGA
CPU: AMD 3800X2

Hope you guys can help me out.

Try these steps see if they help.......
before anything try installing a fresh copy of windows, use all the newest drivers

2nd make sure your bios settings are all correct according to your ram timings and so on

u could also try installing BF2 again, im sure u have tried this one already.

anyone know of any AMD drivers or MS Hotfix drivers for Vista Beta 2 that was recently released?...is it even necessary to install them on Vista?

The problem to my knowledge was only with Windows XP. Service Pack 3 is supposed to incorporate the fix...if they will ever release the SP3.

I never used the AMD driver until I heard about this dual core fix. You obviously do not need that driver. Everything has always worked fine for me without it.

Since a while I'm having some troubles, but I can't tell if this hotfix will help. During games or when surfing on the web (scrolling), sometimes there's some delay. It's not a freeze, but a kind of hitch. Just a split of a second, and then it's okay again. The performance in games and benchmarks is okay, no doubt about that. I'm having an Opty 165.

hi guys , i just got an opteron 170 :clap: and installed it and it went to multiprocessor immediatly.I also installed the hotfix do i need to do the registry stuff ?

Yeah, in order for it to be working properly make sure you follow all the instructions on page one.

BUT if you use a Logitech MOMO wheel and you do the reg hack too you will get nothing but BSOD :mad:

ONLY when the Logitech profiler app is enabled which you need to do to enable force feedback for most games :(

Hi,
I keep on trying to update the AMD CPU Driver Installation Package, but I just get an error window saying, " The file C:\boot.ini could not be opened"!!
Is this because my program drive is 'I' and not 'C'? I installed the Windows update for it, but can't install the package from the AMD website, is there a 'workaround' for this?

how can you tell if you are affected? i just bought an Asus M2N32-SLI Deluxe and in a few days will be getting an X2 3800+ for it. From the windows page it's seems to be a windows issue, so i should be safe to assume there is a definite possibly of me being affected, but how can I tell? just play games for long periods of time and see what happens?

I too have this motherboard, along with a 4600 64X2, 2GB RAM and a Geforce 7950 GPU. The games do stutter after a while, even in Rome Total War! But I can't seem to install the updated driver from the AMD site!

this file is the exact same file as the 32 bit version...it is not a special 64 bit version...I downloaded and installed this new driver and saw that it was the exact same file as the 32 bit hotfix

I have the same problem with my pc. It doesnt matter if I enable FSAA or AA, i have almost the same amount of fps...

Also tried without the Dual Core hotfix + different Forceware drivers...
