thats a damm nice oc njkid i gues that phasechange unit is doing somthing for you reguardless of what the fool says! i seriously doubt youd be running that over clock for any lenth of time on air... keep it up man lets see a worl record out of that 3800!!

hey i think part of your problem is that stock cooler. these things realy throw off alot of heat when adding v-core even a mere 1.55v is enough to raise the heat thru the roof! im running phasechange and my 3800x2 realy puts a hurting on my temps... alot of guys around here are poping the IHS off thier x2's when running air to let the core breathe a little better. i dont recomend you try this your self unless you are willing to buy another cpu if you break it but hey whos to say you dont already know how to do this... i see this is your first post so welcome to xtremesystems :)

Dude for some reason my temps just got better~! They are now running at -21c idle and like 6c under load. Hey get on aim....!!

Got a 3800 X2 in the post :D and a DFI nf4 :D gotta see what this baby will do for me on air, then start saving for a mach/vapochill unit and get negative

Thanks Perc for your advice :)

I will get a better cooler maybe a water block. I was also considering an X90c but I think my evga N4SLI doesn't have the proper mounting plate for such a big cooler.

No cuz I put thr IHS back on... I think I am going to get the mach modded by chilly1 so I can use a different mount.

Currently so far @ 2.7Gig, temps are a little higher than I am comfortable with ATM, 42~44c with 2 instances of PRIME95 Torture large FTT's stable with 1.44Vcore :)

I'm gettin a Hyper 6+ tommorow, pondering taking the IHS off as well, it's a screw down HSF so it'd work with it, anybody tried the naked core+Hyper 6 yet?

Dont buy a Hyper 6+, even though they are a very good cooler the Thermaltake BT is much better for an X2 :fact:

The first thing I need to say is WTF are you thinking trying to sell that chip. Isnt there something else you can sell? Hell if you want I will run around my apt complex and steal a nice bike for you! LOL But you gotta do what ya gotta do!!!

Also get the DFI cuz its cheap as hell right now. Plus if we "upgrade" to the new mobo coming out ya never know what you are getting. I think I will wait till they work some of the bugs out first..... maybe like v2 of the mobo..

I get an X2 3800+ today...the stepping is 0532 RPMW....anyone with this stepping?...is this an E4 or an E6 revision?...I have my MOBO on RMA and can`t test it yet... :(
