Hi...

Some pages ago, some people had problem with voltage over 3.5
I read it but I don't care, 'cos my mobo semms to go perfectly.

Now i've done some more test and i've seen i have that problem.
At 3.5 i have some error in memtest (about 2 per loop) from 250 to 268, so i think it's a mobo issue.

Does anyone fix this issue???

Is there a modded bios which allows 3.3+ vdimm using 3.3 rail (i've a ocz powerstream and I can set 3.3 rail as I want)

This upsets me. I KNOW Bigtoe showed us a bios for this board where the 3.3v rail could be used to power the ram. He had his at 3.5 and fed 3.4v to the ram to get 260 if I remember correctly. I bought a powerstream just for this however now it seems you can only power the ram from the 5v rail which shows to be not the most stable and also generates tremendous heat. The UT 250 did so good powering from the 3.3v rail why can't this be done now?

Ok, I tried memtest at timings 2-2-2-8 @220mhz, first at 3,4V and got massive amounts of errors immidiatly, tried lowering the voltage to 3,2V and the HTT to 200mhz, and this time the errors didn't appear as fast before but still they were there. What do you guys recommend I do?
Flash to the latest bios, loosen my timings a little bit or what?
What settings do you guys have exactly for your VXses?

Ok i hate to do this but i need help, i have looked at every post, tried evey method i could find, updated the bios to 2/1/05, put only one stick in bank 2.... and i cannot get my DFI Ultra-D to boot.

DFI Lanparty UT Ultra-D
AMD Athlon64 3000+
512mb of Kingmax Hardcore PC4000 (or 512 of Geil Golden Dragon PC3700)
ATI Radon X800XL 256mb PCI-Express
2x Maxtor DiamondMax10 SATA 250gb 16mb

Skyhawk 570w PSU

Any suggestions are welcom

//update the only time it will post is right after i clear the cmos, as soon as i load the defaults it hangs, if i reboot it hangs...

//update now using 2/17/05 bios and same thing happnes after loading optimized defaults system hangs on reboot.

//update its not hanging i can reboot, but when i go to install or load any os, linux or windows from the cdrom it hangs and i have to use the power/reset

//update got it working it did not like my MSI cdrom which i verified is good on another computer.

That was not a BIOS, it was a mod he did. I am with Bigtoe right now at the TGF in Dallas for some wild and crazy overclocking action ;). I will ask him anout it when he's awake. He's sleeping like a baby.

I have had no issues using the 5v jumper setting. Just have a fan blowing on the MOSFET with the big heatsink that's by the jumper. My VX happens to work best with 3.4v anyway no matter what board I use.

It seems that a LOT of frustration over this board is due to the complexity of the BIOS... last night I was hitting 300+ HTT and today with a new o/s and SLI setup, apparently I'm missing something in the settings.... maxing at 255 today :(
I know it's USER ERROR, lol but am trying to find some clear guidelines to optimal settings.

i know what you mean on A8N-SLI Deluxe i had my 2x 3200+ and 3500 winnie are 3dmark/benchable @ 2700mhz 1.6v (1.55v in bios), on DFI NF4 SLI-D with same cooling only one cpu did 2745mhz at 1.632v 3dmark benchable other cpus 2600-2680mhz at 1.632v and 10C hotter than other cpu

No seems like 218 was the latest as of yesterday according to "Kent" at DFI Taiwan anyway.

I had no change.

Perhaps this has been mentioned before, but the NF4 does not like *anything* in the USB port below the firewire.

I set the machine up again, after re-mounting my water cooling after a minor circuit modification, and I could OC by about 3 mhz :rolleys: I though I had screwed something up with the GFX, as the last led (the one about VGA detect) was always on untill I reached the IRQ screen. Then everything froze. After some initial stress I figured that I should plug the USB connector to the one under the LAN connector, and thus my issues went away.

Trans Am, you don't feel like making a summary of the problems and summary in the first post do you?

These used to be "premium" supplies. I have two of them but I fear that they are only marginal for my nforce 3 250 systems.

The readings are screwed. Mobo shows 12,16, multi reads 12,38, had to adjust THAT.

I have to find which USB port to use, they're SCREWY. This board need love and attention, which is basically a fancy term for trial-and-error.

Weird board...
