Ok, I just connected two socket holes with success, using copper 1 strand (vein inside cable), otherwise it just wouldn't fit. I could just tell because when I inserted the wire, the hole was filled fully already.
Thereafter, my BIOS defaulted to 13x100. You can't use a multiplier of 13 anymore, because it will count for a very low value (for below 13). But when I lowered to 12.5, it imediately detected a 2600+ (mine is 2700+, but it's normal it doesn't detected that).
I currently am running: 200x11=2199, dual channel mode.
In sandra (mem-chipset) benches are:
int: 3087
float: 2916
In 3D Mark 2001 SE build 330, I couldn't notice any difference. My GeForce 3 (original) is probably the reason for this, because I think I maxed it really out this time (mark: 9505). Anyway, I will keep this for a while, and see how it keeps running, because stability in my opnion is the major factor.
Thanks for the @vise
btw, CPU temp. = 33 ~ 35 degrees celcius
Some more values I forgot to mention:
Memory timings: 5-2-2-2 @ default voltage (1.6)
CPU timing: 200x11=2199 @ 1.70 (was 1.65 default, but unstable)
Alright well I got a bit carried away... I can post @ 225mhz... I tried windows @ 225, no luck. @ 220mhz windows started loading but then *cringe* BSOD. !!!!!! :( So yeah... hosed windows again. We really need a chipset mod. DDTUNG I WILL GIVE YOU A VIRTUAL BACK RUB!!!!!!!!!!! TELL ME WHAT YOU NEED ME TO DO!
well, when I though everything was turning bad, I try the new bios from the link, I get up to 250 and when I try to experiment with the multiples, they are unlock now:D , before it didn't work:toast:
Hey NUNEZ1980...what is the stepping of your CPU core? And what temps are you getting on that...whatever cooling rig you have setup up?!?! :D
So...this bios should really test the ram now instead of the mobo limiting us! I want to know whats the highest somebody has gotten with this bios and what ram...Its most likely going to be some kinda PC3500 ram...but who knows! I'm planning on getting a 2400+ and 2* 256 sticks of Corsair memory, probally 3200 C2 or 3500 C2. I have a 512 stick of 3200 C2.5 and it tops out at 204 or so!
I've hosed way to many drives too:D convince it lies with the VDD...Quote:

hi there, the stepping is AIUHB, I'm getting below zero, I have a fridge for my radeon 9700@470/690 and chip set, and a tec 226w with an air conditioner for cooling the water:DQuote:

fridge -28c and conditioner -20c
So its more like a home made Vapo Chil! :) Yea...the most I can do, or will do, as of now is to have some ice cold water w/lots of ice and run one tube in it....but no water in or out. I want to keep the distilled water and coolant all there...;)
Nunez, what is the best 3dMark score you have gotten published?
well, I'm not a big fan of 3dmark, but I did a run and I got 18k, I might get better ram and tweak it alitte to see what I can achieve :DQuote:

link to score
I was just curious since you had refrigeration cooling, and volt modding of the mobo and radeon, and I'm just using the Koolance without any voltmodding. I was kind of curious what impact all that might have, but seeing how close our scores are, I don't know if I want to bother doing all that extra work. I think I'll just stay pat.
Hmm, last night I connected the 2 CPU holes, and it really seemed to work ok (multiplier unlocked, which was NOT done by the 1002 beta 1 BIOS!!). I also did a burn-in test, and it all went fine again, without lock ups (check my previous post for the values if you are interested). But this morning, when I started my machine, it suddenly POST at a whole different mem freq. So I checked the BIOS, and discovered all settings were okay. I used 1 rather thick copper vein/strand from a speaker cable.
I think somehow the copper strand used a slightly different current/voltage or something like that, and that's the reason why my system didn't POST at the correct values anymore, while the BIOS DID show the correct timings.
If this would be indeed the case, I might get it solved by using perhaps 2 strands??
Please, if someone has another opinion about this, let me know
By inserting a small wire into the holes, you are doing a simpler version of this. (wrong CPU I know, just using that as example)
I wouldn't have thought the wire used would have made much difference, it's more it either bridges those pins or it doesn't.
If you still have the same options in the BIOS as when you first did the wire trick, then it's fair to say it's still bridging said pins.
Looks to me like your problem is from something else.
Your link is currently not available, but I suspect you refered to unlocking a Thoroughbred B core by cutting the 3rd L12 bridge?
Ok thanks, anyone else has an idea what this problem is caused by, or at least has an explanation of what happened?
No, his picture (link worked for me) is showing the wrapping a wire around the two pins technique that go into those same two holes. I agree if you have access to the lower settings when you went into the BIOS, that is not your problem.
The L12 3rd bridge cut is the lower FSB issue discussed in that other thread.
I just cut off a piece of speaker wire, and looked at it again. I count 8 single copper strands that each look to be about the thickness of one of my chest hairs (LOL!). I used one of the 8 strands in my pin in the holes trick.
If you can't see that site, here you go..

hi guys, my mobo mod was not working so I did the whole thing again and now it works, also I'm able to push my little 2400+ to 2624 rock stable  , and can post over 2700:toast:
edit: I will try to put a heat sink on the south bridge, its getting kinda of hot:eek:
also thanks to sysfailur for his great contributions:cool:
EXCELLENT! Nice job Nunez
And your 3DMark2001 score issssss? I bet it will go really high too! ;)

I received a few PMs requesting the chipset Vmod for this board.
Well guys, help is on the way. OPP will have one of these boards next week and I'll work with him on the Vmod. No guarantee of success, but I'll give it a shot.
DDTUNG:cool:
PS I am not going to answer those PMs individually.
Ahh good to hear ;)Quote:

Hey, are both you and OPPAINTER located in Hong Kong? I go there sometimes, maybe we can meet for a shopping spree in the computer areas sometime? ;-)Quote:
