anyone tried folding with x1900 yet?
I know why this thread has gone all quiet... everyone's playing with their 'ATI' GPU's!!! ;)
Hey guys, I've got the following options set on my E6400 machine but I still keep getting these little 153pointers that seem take an inordinate amount of time to complete!
-svcstart -local -advmethods -forceasm -verbosity 9
Shouldn't '-advmethods' elliminate these? Or have I misunderstood something here.
I have four WU's due for completion late today (next 18hrs or so), each at 153pts!
@eXa, look here: http://xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=118000
@Rmc, man, I keep getting these pissy little WU's that take forever. I got no hope of catching you at this rate. Damn!
Guilty :DQuote:

:hehe: Don't feel too left out mate, the GPU client is causing a lot of headaches for quite a few people - could be a while before all the bugs are ironed out, I'd rather have your e6400 folding for me at teh moment...at least I know what's going on with the CPU client :D
For one thing the GPU client requires a whole CPU core also, which means I have to shut down FAH on my CPU. Not sure if I like that, I was hoping for both. Actually the GPU client runs my CPU more (higher temps) than the CPU client does which seems really odd.
Haha, don't worry, I don't think i'll have any more points coming in today. Got some long WUs that will be done tomorrow and Thursday. :)Quote:

@Rmc, your points in a couple of days will probably be significant. 600pts for two days is not. I might jump ahead for a moment and bam... Rmc leaps ahead again ;)
@Sparky/Jimwah, I've noticed the headaches people are having and I am surprised about having to dedicate a core/thread to the GPU client. A bit defeatest, eh. I'm sure that will get ironed in the near future though, maybe by the time I get an ATI card ;)
Cheers Guys.
ps. Modding headaches. Dying to post some progress pics but still no attachments allowed for the moment. Bummer.
Also, I plan on remounting the HSF on the D805 today. I'll let you know if I successfully get those temps down and can run BOTH cores!
I guess the thing that gets me the most is how the GPU client works the CPU harder than the CPU client does
Get yourself an account on photobucket or imageshack or something similar, then you can throw the url to the pic in some [img][/img] tags :)Quote:

Please, bring on the recruits. The more the merrier and the more likely we (XS's team 36362) are to break the 100 barrier!
Not to mention the benefit to medical research!!!
Watch out guys, I've got HTPC running 2 threads@3.3 now :hrhr: (53c CPU/24c ambient(case open)). Turns out that the mounting/artic silver coverage was dreadful. I decided to lap the D805 too (thought it was  ) while I was at it. Remounted now and seems to be firing nicely!
Rmc, you're slipping again. :hehe: I notice, though, that you haven't submitted any WUs for a while, so I figure you gon'na punch back pretty hard anytime now, especially with your GPU added to the crop ;)
:welcome: to the team :toast:
I don't have a GPU to put toward it... ;) I am debating about getting one though.Quote:

Nice to see your D805 is up and running. :)
Sorry, misunderstanding... and thanks :)Quote:

GAM, we're running 64-65 as of this coming update... do you have over 1,000 points coming in today? Because I do... :D
Looks like we'll take the 107th spot in just 6-7 days... nice job guys, lets keep it going.
:( No. 4*153... by early tomorrow.Quote:

:toast: to the team!!!! (36362) we're winners and we should know it!!
All clocks to 36362, :trumpet:
Well I have another system coming :D Although I wonder if I should block ebay, bad for my bank account
I'm going to be picking up my spare PSU this weekend, and see if that does anything with that celeron system. It is now crashing once a day so I keep it running, when it crashes I shut the darn thing off then turn it back on and it is good for the next 24 hours or so. Still folds though! :p:
What the? I've just picked up two new projects 772 and 773.
The 773 is only worth 44pts! 42% in 5hrs, 91.6ppd (HTPC)
The 772 is worth 149pts. 6% in 10hrs! 24.2ppd (Server)
The 772 is the pits running on the P4e@3.15Ghz.
The same machine processed 1808/9's for 153pts at a rate of 100ppd.
I don't seem to have got a 600pointer for ages. I thought my settings should be enforcing/encouraging these projects. ( -svcstart -local -advmethods -forceasm -verbosity 9)
Does all this seem normal to you guys?
@Rmc, <100 pts behind you ;) and got another 153 coming in the next 4.5hrs.
@Sparky, what have you picked up from the bargain bin? And where are you going to put these things? I just picked up a 3yr old Dell GX260 desktop @1.7 (i think) with 20" Dell Trinitron for AUD150. This is going to mum who has been waiting for me to fix the old p3 600 I tried to set up for her before (18mths ago ;) ). She's 75 and never used a computer and wants to learn about the www and email. Getting her set up with email and Skype will put her in touch with my sister in Dublin. Anyway... I am now wondering whether I should pickup a few more of these Dells and set them up in the garage or something so I can dust Rmc :hmhm: Regardless, the Dell for mum means I can rebuild my old P4b 2.53/P4S8X and put it to use folding. Will have to wait until I have got some these mod projects out of the way though.
I feel your pain... I have also had a 772 and 773 in the last day or so.
Please don't buy more computers... I won't have a chance. :(
Haha just kidding... the more the better. :toast:
